Leighton in the minors

We all know that Leights is down, but an article on the topic and how he 'seems' the be dealing

PHILADELPHIA - Michael Leighton(notes) wore an orange-and-black uniform, crouched in goal under the Philadelphia Flyers' 2009-10 Eastern Conference championship banner and heard 18,000 fans cheering for him in the NHL arena.

Leighton was back on the ice where he felt he belonged.

While the setting of his greatest professional moments were fit for a triumphant homecoming, the circumstances left Leighton realizing how removed he is from resuming his NHL career. This start wasn't for the Stanley Cup finalist Flyers, it was for the Adirondack Phantoms, the Flyers' AHL affiliate, against the Wilkes-Barre Scranton Penguins on Friday night.

Leighton played his first regular-season game in Philadelphia since he started Game 6 of the finals against the Chicago Blackhawks in June.

He has no idea when or if he'll be back in Philly this season wearing a Flyers sweater......

He deserves this for lieing. If he had told the truth from the beginning, he wouldn't be in this situation

They showed this game on CSN, he played well and it was a really good win for the Phantoms.

Yeah, he'd be in the same situation Emery's in, coming off injury and scrambling for an opportunity to make the league minimum. Instead he's set himself up for life with the deal he signed and he'll be back in the NHL, either here or someplace else, next year.

I can't blame a career backup/minor leaguer for cashing in when he got the chance.

The flyers don't do that to players. He would of been placed on IR after his surgery, and the flyers would of ridden with boosh and bob, then he would of been given a legit chance at claiming his job back.

Homer gave him 1 game, saw that he was rusty, and sent him to the AHL. Thats what you get for lieing. Not to mention he was trying to trade him.

But he was a free agent. If Homer knew he was injured he wouldn't have signed him over the summer (at least I hope he wouldn't).

I'm curious what will happen next year though. I assume he'll be 100% (he's been playing well in the A)...is he paired with Bob, or do they stick with Boucher and dump Leighton for whatever they can get (or waive him, more likely)?
