New contracts for Callahan, Dubinsky, Anisimov, and Boyle
I'm hoping to keep all four and still have enough to sign a respectable defensemen. If we have to get rid of one, it's Anisimov. Keeping the other 3 is vital. What contract would you give to each?
Why are we getting rid of Anisimov? Unless he's traded he's going to be re-signed.
Anyway, I think the $ will look something like this:
Dubi - 4M
Cally - 3.5M
Boyle - 2M
Artie - 1.8M
Obviously a lot depends on how many years the deals are for, and that can move the numbers by a good amount. If guys are going to give up years of UFA status they will get paid more per year.

I love BB as much as the next guy but...
Anisimovs Ceiling > Boyles Ceiling
Regardless all four will be signed no doubt in my mind.
No way Boyle gets more than 1.25. This is a career year, so thus it's the exception to the rule in his career so far. Does anyone know if the organization hooked him up with Underhill? Have to think he feels indebted to them, too, if they did.
edit- It will be a 100% increase in his current salary. Huge upgrade and he can't really expect more especially after how bad he was last year. He needs to prove he's a permanently changed man before cashing in, and I'm saying that as one of his biggest fans this year.

Do you really think Boyle will want to take less money than Boogard?
That sounds great but that's IF Boyle takes 1.25 million. The way he's tearing it up this season he could ask for more than that.
Yeah Sather is pretty good at signing RFA's. Hopefully they could convince him to take 2 years, and if he keeps it up they can negotiate after that. I mean he only has 24 pts in 49 games. He has cooled off a lot, maybe he gets a little more but not too much.

Yeah he will get his entire rangers career evaluated. Although he had a great start of a season, we will see what happens. I mean overall as a Ranger he has 30 points in 120 games. Not worth much more than 1.25.

When it's double what he's making now? After what we've done for him? When you have to assume he knows we have cap troubles? When this is his first year of looking like a good NHL player?
Yes.
1-2 year contract at that, and if continues his play he'll cash in. Book it.

That's true about the points...but I've got to believe his other contributions add a bit to his value.
And he may only have 24 points, but 16 of them are goals.
Boogard has nothing to do with this. I can say, do you really think he will take less money than Drury (More of a comparable). But thats not always how contracts work. A big enforcer, has nothing to do with a 3rd/4th liner that kills penalties, and now scored goals.

Don't get me wrong...I'm not advocating a 5 year deal for Boyle. But I will be surprised if it's not at a 2 year deal at 1.6M per. Guess we'll know soon enough.

Yeah they do, I mean he kills penalties. Hes noth that great on faceoffs. I just dont see him getting that much more than 1.25, maybe 1.5. But, he will get a short term deal, and a chance to prove what he has.

I see 1.5 at the very most. What I think will happen, though, is that Boyler will see he's getting a 100% increase in pay, Drury's coming off the books, and he needs to keep up his play for more than this season before getting payed like a good NHLer.
I like Boyle and I don't think he'll throw the organization under a bus with such a cap-tight year being followed by much more freedom.
On the bright side I think, if anything, Boyle can be talked to. Form what little we've seen form him he seems like a good team guy and although I expect him to look for a raise, I don't think we're dealing with a Kovalchuk ego here.

He only makes 525,000 this year. He will get a raise. But not a 3-4 times raise.

Boyle is on pace to score 26 goals... I would be very surprised if he didn't get a lot closer to 1.8 to even 2 million dollars a year, and what if he scores 30 goals? He may even end up being our top goal scorer at the end of the season playing with Prust and Fedotenko on a checking line. I would be very surprised if he signed for anything less than 1.5.
Hard to say on Boyle, part of me says sell high but on the flip side he plays in so many situations that it'd be a blow for this year, let alone taking into consideration that he's a young guy finding his stride.

He has cooled off a lot lately, and he also gets some PP time. I guarantee he doesnt pot 30. He is not getting 400% of what his salary is now. I love Boyle, but his contract isnt based on what HF boards raves about, its his performance as a ranger.
