I think the Hawks would want players who were ready to play now, and that are cheap. I think the Isles would have to start with Bailey or Nielsen, 2012 first round pick. They would still probably have to add a little more.

Cizikas projects to be a 3rd liner, Koskinen is nothing special, and who knows where the 2012 pick will be. Seabrook is already a legitimate top-pairing defenceman. Chicago wants to win now.

Agreed. Bailey + 2011 1st round pick + small piece for Seabrook + small piece would make more sense (not sure where Bailey would fit in up front for the Hawks though, or why they'd need to trade a defenceman. Is Seabrook looking for a huge raise next season?)
From the Isles standpoint where do I sign? Seabrook I feel is better than our top pick this year, unless it becomes first or second (which I do not believe it will).
They will have more than enough cap space to resign him so why in the world would they let their 25 year old home grown RFA top pairing dman get away - especially when he is the only dman they have that plays with a physical edge.
Please let's use some common sense here and stop with all the Seabrook trade proposals.
Moulson, Bailey, 2nd--Players that can step in now and contribute, and one with high upside.
Moulson and Bailey are nice players but the Hawks still say no because Seabrook is more important to them than a couple players that would be 3rd liners on the Hawks. The Hawks have a bunch of young players just coming into their own and a few more with a good shot of being NHL ready next year of the year after.
Simply put - Seabrook is a top line player. It would take at least a top line player to pry him away from the Hawks and even then the trade would need to improve the team. Quantity should never be accepted for quality.
Koskinen is a bust and has been passed up by Poulin/Nilsson on Isles depth chart
Cizikas is an ok prospect but nothign special

No thanks this deal is absurdly titled in Isles favor and gives the Hawks nothing of value outside of a 1st round pick
Not that the trade is great, but Koskinen isn't a bust. Dude played 10 games last year after arthroscopic hip surgery and has been rotating with 3 goalies this year. Nilsson is still is sweden, so don't know where you get that from.

He is 22 with a hip injury already and got lit up in AHL this year
His stock has fallen and unproven goalies have almost no value in trades
But lets get back to the hip ,,, Goalies rely on there side to side movement and speed of recovery... Hip injury at such a young age is always a
And Nilsson playing in Sweden is not a negative. It allows him to continue to develop + he is younger then Koskinen by Nearly 2 years.

doesn't mean he's a bust, give it some more time before making that call. and until you get a young prospect over the the A, it's tougher to judge where they rank when they're playing in sweden. never said sweden was a negative.

Koskinen's stock has dropped rapidly over last 12 months... He has no value at this time and his future is questionable
We can argue about Nilsson and that is fine we both clearly have a different view on him and his role in Isles future but Poulin has already passed Koskinen up on depth chart and his development is farther ahead then Koskinen
+ He is a butterfly goalie and the hip injury is a major concern given the wear and tear that style of play has on a goalie longterm (Although that is more a concern with smaller butterfly goalies Jocelyn Thibault and his hip issues as example). But to have a hip injury at 22 is concerning
And the situation is becoming fairly clear with Koskinen down in AHL this year as he has floundered ,,, It can be attributed to him coming off injury but by 18 games you should have started to see major improvement in his game and that has not happened with further is worrisome with his development and longterm viability
5-13 3.59 GAA / .884 Sv Pct is his stat line in AHL this year and you cant argue it is the result of a poor team when Poulin performed so well there and Lawson put up a .900+ sv pct
