Pacioretty is a left shot left wing. Here is a list of natural left shooting left wings on the Stars that are currently better than Pacioretty:

James Neal
Loui Eriksson
Jamie Benn
Brenden Morrow
Steve Ott

Ignoring team needs, as you so obviously did, this is still horrible value. So well done.

Then replace Richards with Eriksson

We already have Plekanec, Gomez, Eller, DD, Halpern and now Engqvist at centre. Richards is probably better than all of them (except maybe Plek) but if we move one of our only big forwards AND our first it would be for a first pairing D.

Subban + 1st + 2nd MAY get Dallas interested, but obviously isn't worth it for the habs.

Plek is one of the most underrated players on this board. He can be a point per game player and is a Selke calibre centre on a great contract and he is younger. I hope you enjoyed your laugh though.

Haha, you are right about the 4 others, but Steve Ott, really? The guy is a 3rd line energy forward with some upside.

Plek has yet to have a good Playoff run. Richards has a Conn Smythe.

Richards >>> Plek and I am a Hab fan.

I'm ignoring potential. Ott is a better player right now until Pacioretty makes his impact.

Pleks is having a decent season, Richards is killing it this year.

I'm going to close this, the Stars would be crazy to even consider a deal like this since they are one of the top teams in the league currently.
