I look at it as Penner for a 3rd overall pick from 2008, d men can take longer to develop, I'd be wicked happy if that deal went through

What are you talking about? Enstrom is in his fourth year and this is his fourth good year in a row.

Please don't think this is how the consensus of Oilers fans think.

And I can see why Enstrom is a small puck moving Dman we had one in Vishnosky Hemsky could bring us a great shutdown dman with the proper package High scoring small pmd dmen are not that hard to aquire

Only the clueless ones who think he's a small PMD.

Enstrom would be our best defenseman offensively and defensively by 83 country miles.

Um, yes, they are. Especially Norris caliber ones.

Oiler fans are crazily underrating Enstrom here. Your realize we're talking about Tobias Enstrom, here, a 50 point, 26 year old, top end positional defender.

Well if I am not mistaken Vishnovsky was a norris candidate 1 season in La when a Injury sealed his fate and we aquired him. Nobody is undervaluating Him but a 70 point player on a club that scores 200 goals accounts for over 33 percent of the teams Offense and the value is there but We need a premier shutdown dman over a pmd first

We have small fowards and don't need small dmen. I would trade Penner for Bogosian(sp)

He's another Lubomir Visnovsky. The Oilers would be better off looking at acquiring a guy with a bit less offence, but being able to anchor the PK.

Who knows how Enstrom would do in the western conference as well. A lot of guys leave the southeast and their point totals fall to pieces.

We can afford to have one small defenseman. If our corps is considered to be Whitney, Foster, Gilbert, Peckham, Smid, And now Petry the average height is about 6.03.

Size is surprisingly not too big an issue for our d.

Not saying we should trade for Enstrom, just saying size shouldn't restrict our options.

He reminds me a lot of Visnovsky. Vis has always been underrated like Enstrom was before this season. I'd rather acquire Luke Schenn or Marc Staal then Enstrom. We need that element more than a small offensive dmen with a good stick.

A bust, a 2nd and a guy that's out for the reason for a #1 defenseman / our best player. Right.

Not to mention we need to get big tough ass mofo's. Not more small puck movers.
I think this more then anything

for me think the comparison to Lubor Vishnovsky is close--I think Lub is a better then Enstrom. Enstrom has 2 years left and then is a UFA.

Enstrom to me is a poor mans Kaberle.

It would be interesting to see what happens to Enstrom as Zack B and Dustin B develop and push him down the chart. SO far Enstrom has been somewhat lucky at Atanta's inability to develop or get top 4 d-men and he gets lots of prime time

No matter who develops, Enstrom will still be on the first pair.

Penner for Bogosian deal would be good for the Oilers. They could turn around and draft Landeskog to fill that power forward hole.

I'd still take Larsson if we get #1. Either way, put me on board for a Penner for Bogo swap. Even if we have to add the Flames 3rd rder this year. Penner is inconsistent but is also probably a top 5 guy league wide for the combo of his size and hands. Bogo looks like a solid second pairing guy but probably a reach for 3rd overall given who else was available (yes hindsight is always 20/20). Seems pretty fair.
