Brian Lee has a little value, but I think he would be a good reclamation project for the Bruins, he is still young and Boston has a good defensive system, so there is a chance he could become something. At worst he is a 7th defenseman. Alfredsson would add a much needed veteran experience, as Recchi is the only veteran leader on the team. His cap hit isn't that high (4.85) for the next two years. Phillips would help solidify the back end, and while he isn't necessarily the PMD the Bruins need, he'd be a good fit.
The Sens get some cap relief with Ryder's expiring contract in place of Alfie's, and Ryder has been a good player this season contrary to popular belief. Paille is signed for one more year at just over a million bucks. He is a very good PKer and has some wheels, just needs to finish more. Hamill and Arniel are the little B's top scorers. Hamill has been playing very good for Providence this year and if given the chance could be a 2nd line center one day. Arniel is a gritty scorer. Stuart is a young stay at home guy who has been durable most of his career. The picks would help the rebuilding Sens.

Hamill is 22, hardly a bust.
Lee was on waivers a month ago, and nobody claimed him.
Alfredsson is on pace for almost exactly the same production as Ryder.
Ryder has no value to Ottawa. What's he gonna do? Help them make the playoffs this year? Do they really want to re-sign him?
We should add Tyler Randell, Levi Nelson, Yannick Riendeau, Wyatt Smith, Ben Sexton, Andrew Bodnarchuk and Carl Soderberg. That way, Ottawa can just skim our trade proposal, see a really long list of players and accept the trade.
Honestly, you'd be surprised. This guy got lost as a result of a management overhaul and never living up to his draft spot. Lately, he's played well...adding a physical side to his game and moving the puck very efficiently. He looks like a quality #5 Dman, #2 on our team to put it into perspective. If he continues this play...there will be some interest as he's still young, could benefit further from more ice and new scenery...while being cheap and an RFA after next year. Upside is limited...but could play in the league for 10 years + IMO.
too much going on here, way too many moving pieces. why get alfie instead of ryder at the expense of a 1st and a second...the upgrade isnt that needed

is lee on a 2way contract? no so how would he not get claimed when the bruins are forced to put him on waivers. phillips isnt that big of an impact to warrant sending down kampfer as he's hitting his stride.
dont get me wrong if im the sens i say no thanks although itd sure help their rebuild given ryders contract comes off the boards, just like phillips does at seasons end(limiting his value just like ryder) alf is getting older and is showing it

Alfredsson was a ppg player last year and is the victim of a team and system that is hugely under performing. Is he a 100 point guy? Not anymore but he's still a very solid player.
Ottawa could use a top end forward prospect and of course another prospect in what should amount to a late first round pick.

I don't know about that, I actually think if the Sens were going to trade Alfredsson and the Bruins came up with the best offer, they would do it. I think the main problem with dealing Alfie to Boston would be the salary cap on Boston's end.

If that was the best offer, I'd rather he retire as never having worn another NHL jersey.
I love Alfredsson but I wouldn't trade for him now. He's a great player but he's not exactly what we're looking for.
I'd also prefer to see him retire as a Sen. He had a great career, is a great professional, and it's nice to see a team realize this and reward him. Please stay in Ottawa Alfie and I look forward to watching your retirement ceremony one day.

and yet you think Ryder has no value? 14 goals, 28 points half way through the season... I'm going out on a limb saying he has some value. By that Theory Alfie is worthless as well, seeing as he has the same stats.
