I'm surprised they sent out the Hurricane early. You think with it being in Raleigh, they'd have a big unveil or something.

I was hoping our guardian could be a Liger instead... its pretty much my favorite animal, bred for its skills in magic.

I think it means he's no "glass jaw". Can take a punch / damage / etc.

If you cut him open, you wouldn't find a ring since 1967.

I just looked at it. I'm not a cartoon/comic book fan, but that one looks really lame. Nice sissy bar on the back of the bike though.

Oh yeah, great call, NHL. Market to those who don't give a damn about hockey and make them think the players are going for the "Stan Lee Cup" finals.

That being said, "the Flyer" guardian ain't so bad. He's got that glam/metal/"bloody rock god" look to him. The love child of Gene Simmons and Ozzy. He looks like he should be holding a guitar.

Just don't let him play "Holy Diver"!

I noticed something earlier with the commercial with Hoobastank playing. I think the goalie on top of the train originally had "Miller" on the back. I noticed now it's all black...because he didn't make it. Haha.

It was Luongo, not Miller.

I noticed the same thing. They blacked it out, then some, but not all, of the commercials had it edited out completely.

Good stuff.

Not sure how this makes it "cool".

Of course I'm a bitter, jaded, hateful old cuss.

You'd think the way that Thomas was playing clearly made him an all star, and they would have used him.

I honestly want to say Miller was in it, which makes me think there were two (cause they had a couple different shots with goalies, one on the train, one jumping off something, etc). Regardless, I would have that they would have used Miller since he's an American born goalie, with Olympic experience and notoriety, you'd think they'd want to market him, as they did with Toews, Ovechkin, Crosby, etc.

Either way, glad I wasn't the only one that noticed.

A bunch of Ben Franklins as the bad guy? It's obvious the writers/creators are English.

I was thinking this thing was getting pretty cool and then. . . that. Hopefully it gets better after those initial "1st" appearance issues. I know they said they put a lot of the history in like the Rangers and Flyers don't get along. .. at all. So hopefully you see that later after the initial setup crap gets taken care of.

I just hope they do away with feeling they have to "walk" the viewer through the comic. Like, I dunno... "Telekensis will work", "Oh no, he's mind controlling us". It just felt like a 12 year old wrote it, and felt he had to specifically tell us every thing that was going on....

I don't mind a walk through if they say "The Flyer his power of telekinesis to..." But to have them say lines like you quoted, yeah, it's annoying.
