Still amazes me that he went from CIS, which is basically where failed junior players go to end their career and get an educaion, to the NHL.

As much grief as I gave him for the first 30 games, I must say, he's played really well since he's been moved to the line with Smitty and Spaling.

A good read. Makes me wonder just how many make it from the CIS to the NHL.

Very very very few. I'd say 1% of the NHL are former CIS players and even then they are lower level grinders and enforcers.

was ruccin a grinder in his early years? i remember him having decent scoring touch with anaheim and grinding it out in nyr, unless i am thinking of the wrong guy.


cant beleive the globe and mail had a pro pred article.

Little bit but I was using a blanket statement as to the average of the talent in the CIS.
