The only rationale I see is that they wanna try their best to guarantee two points against a weaker team tomorrow. Anything tonight is just gravy.

Yeah I thought about that too. It has to be.

Hopefully Biron goes into god mode like he did against St. Louis.

Spector says Prust will play, Girardi a game-time decision.

I'm fine with letting Biron play this one. I rather not have Lundqvist battle it out with the Caps and might lose and have our less talented backup play a less talented team. Why not have Lundqvist play the worst team to get a much bigger chance for a definite win? Good move, Torts.

Maybe Torts plays Biron both games and lets Hank get a short rest before the All-Star weekend. He won't get a break like most other players, he will need a break at some point. maybe this is it.

Maybe Torts figures to go for the "likely" win and write off the caps game. If Biron gets hot, maybe we win both.

Im ok going with Biron. Get Hank against the Kitty's tomorrow and get closer to guaranteeing two points before the break.

Worked for us starting Moose against the flyers. So while I will not be cheering for the rangers to win, shutdown Ovie and I will be happy Now if the rangers win I have a few friends that will be going absolutely insane (they always do when they win)!

Yup, I'm with this Torts on this one too. I posted earlier in the GDT that if we get two of the next four points and don't suffer more injuries, we're in good shape. Who knows, maybe Biron plays solid too and we steal a point or two tonight.

Girardi out means Sauer is going to get a hell of a lot of responsibility against the league's 3rd best player.

This will probably be a mix-and-match sort of night.

Regardless of combinations that skated this morning, Tortorella not sure of his pairings or lines based on lineup uncertainty.

Heading to the game tonight, section 427 so on that note disappointing that Hank and Girardi (among everyone else) aren't in.
But I've got my red rangers shirt ready to go to try and blend in with the bandwagon fans' "rock the red" garbage.

Would love a win tonight.

Even McDonaugh and Eminger are gonna get a lot more ice time..

You see the lines being what?

I would put the lines as:

Staal-Eminger
Sauer-Gilroy
McD-MDZ

Maybe switch Sauer and Eminger

I don't even know. We'll lean heavily on Staal, Eminger, and Sauer. The other three can earn top 4 minutes based on how they play over the course of the night.

I'm honestly very glad I'm not Torts with all these injuries.

Rozsival missed nearly 2 weeks with a rib cage injury. No reason to rush Girardi back into the line-up with a full week off after the Panther game on Tuesday.

Wonder if the Rangers will assign MDZ,Grachev,Dupont,Kolarik and Newbury to CT this week. The Whale has two games this weekend before the AHL all star break. The Rangers save money on the cap.

Makes sense. I see Dupont and Kolarik going back first.

This is going to be a long game.

I'm going with 4-1 Caps.

Heres hoping that MDZ back in the lineup invigorates the power play.

3rd string goalies are a pain for us, but hopefully the law of averages says we light this kid up tonight.
