Weight on NHL Live right now

Gotta say he is a well spoken guy and an asset for the Isles down the road. He is covering alot of topics from his injury to the Nabakov situation to how well the Isles are run.

I'm at work on my phone. Any chance some links a transcript when it's done?

He's the man, and he spoke honestly on a lot of topics.

He mentioned how we honestly have an issue of attracting UFA's and said how it is because of the reputation we've developed in the past. He did everything but blame mad Mike for the situation were in. He also spoke about the arena situation and told us that it's something that needs to be addressed soon.

His injury status is still a mystery. He said he has nerve damage and his leg is a 25% of it's strength. He didn't mention a time line.

He's done, but he would make a great asset in some sort of management/scouting role. Even in some kind of coaching role, just not head coach.

He said he initially had back spasms, but then the doctors found sound bone fragments in his lower back and he has seen alot of specialists etc. He said he couldn't walk up steps because his quad muscle wouldn't engage. He obviously has some lower back nerve damage that has come about over the years of playing. I think he mentioned he is like 25% so I doubt he plays at all if ever again on the ice.

I love Doug Weight, but if the Isles wanted a PR guy, they wouldn't be paying him/her 2M per year to do it.

I do, however, like the fact that he does his best to stand behind the org.

Clearly coaching/mgmt w/the Isles are the next step. It's unbelievably obvious.

I agree. Nothing that really hasn't been already said. I really liked the way he touched the Nabby issue. He basically said that Evgeni should try to get back into the league and not rush his decision. He should take his time and really get to know these kids and see how hard they work.
