Please tell me your joking, the Rangers have one of the best assests in the league and also the identity of the players here is also becoming very good which also would promote trade with us. I am worried about this one though, i mean who would we give up for a guy like that. I would not be interetsted in giving up 1st rounder for him. Guys i would be willing to move would be Gilroy, Mccdonaugh, Christ, 2nd rounder, Wolski, Boyle. If i had to guess what this trade might include would be Del Zotto, 1st or 2nd rounder, and maybe Drury, that wouldint be the worst trade as long as its a 2nd rounder not a 1st.
well we would be able to take on a lot of salary this year. but we wont be able to in the rest of the years left on his contract. if hes traded here i dont see how sather could pull the trigger if drury or gabs isnt included. we arent trading gaborik and who would want drury and why would drury leave NY to live in calgary. cant see it happening but if sather somehow pulled it off with drury involved and not to many top prospects/young players then he is a ****ing god.
1. There would have to be money going the other way, with all the signings that have to be made in the summer, theres only room for this season. The $$$ doesnt compute. The Rangers arent trading Gaborik. Hes 5 years younger. please.
2. I personally wouldn't mind adding Iginla. I think hes still got a ton left in the tank. At least two years. A change of scenery, especially to NY, would revitalize him IMO. But that's the player you're getting and the contract is a completely different ball of wax.
3. Hes got 2 years left at 7M after this one, ouch. But, if Drury was going the other way i'd love the swap. But i find it absurd how any team would want Drury, even if his contract had a 2M hit, plus he has a NTC! Duuuh...
4. Sathers not dumb enough to give away what he's built the last few years with the youngsters. At least i dont think he is. Calgary is in a position to rebuild. They would want some serious chips in return, AND have to take salary back.
I heard about this too. I highly doubt it's true since I really don't see a huge need for Iginla on this team, and the salary cap is tight. Drury would probably have to go to Calgary if any trade went down.

I have a hard time believing anyone other than McKenzie when it comes to scooping trades. Doesn't mean that it isn't fun to discuss all these trade rumors, but they really need to be taken with a massive grain of salt.

Are you serious? If Drury and basically nothing else went the other way, it would be one of the biggest steals in trade history.

Well you did at least say you were only thinking it and it would only be a combo of any two. I'd be willing to give MDZ and a pick. is it hard to come by that O D-man? yes. Could this team survive without a PP QB (Which MDZ isn't yet anyway and may not be for a few more years) obviously they have.
Iginla is still what a 70 pt guy by himself? Tough, girtty, smart, busts his ass, fights for his mates, a leader. This guy coming to this team seems like a combo made in heaven. A D prospect and pick i'd do that in a heartbeat. To me if anyone disagrees with that i think youa re severely overrating prospects and picks.
