Player of the Game & The Good, The Bad, The Redden: Game #51 @ Washington Capitals

Player of the Game & The Good, The Bad, The Redden

The RulesWhat is the poll for?

You are voting for the player of the game - the one who put forth the most effort, who put the team on his shoulders, who contributed the most.

Do not vote for the player who had the best statistical game just because he had the best statistical game.

This does not mean you should not vote for the player of who had the best statistical game, but do not vote for him just because of that fact.

Who can I vote for?

You may vote for any player who dressed for the game and played at least one shift. If the player you want to vote for is not included in the poll, select "Other" and indicate in your post who you wish to vote for. In the case that I egregiously miss the player who everyone wants to vote for in the poll, I will count the votes in the thread.

What is this "The Good, The Bad, The Redden" nonsense?

It is my twist on the title of the famous spaghetti western movie, The Good, the Bad and the Ugly.

Since multiple players may have outstanding games and you can only vote for one player in the poll, this affords you the opportunity to recognize multiple players, or a facet of the team, for their commendable play ("The Good"). This also affords you the opportunity to rip players, or a facet of the team, for their particularly substandard play ("The Bad"). Finally, just as "The Player of the Game" affords you the opportunity to recognize the best, this affords you the opportunity to commend the crème de la crème of the worst, who delivered an atrocious performance, or whose singular (or multiple) bad plays directly led to the the detriment of the team ("The Redden").

Alexander Frolov Memorial Trophy

The Alexander Frolov Memorial Trophy is awarded to the player who most exemplifies the qualities that Alex brought to the ice game in and game out. Most notable was his talent for wraparounds. Thusly, this award is given to the player who has the most wraparound attempts throughout the game.

The award tonight goes to Chris Drury , with 1 wraparound attempt against Washington.

very tough game for anyone to stand out. limited chances on both sides. washington was pretty uncreative on offense and didnt do much forechecking. we arent very talented right now so we will struggle to score against teams playing sound defense. but we got 2 points *****es!

Biron, played a very solid game. I thought McD played well at defense, along with Staal and the rest of them.

Player of the Game: Marc Staal. I agree with .Vs, he had an excellent game.

The Good: McD, The forecheck, Biron.

The Bad: Drury.

The Redden: POWERLESS PLAY!

Wolski went ****ing nasty in that shootout.

Was just plain mean.

Awesome robbery of two points, let's get the **** out of Washington and go into the break on a streak with a win tomorrow against Florida!

After those three attempts on the SO that took a while to develop, I think Holtby just wasn't expecting Anisimov to get there so quick.

This one is difficult... im sort of tied between Biron and Staal for MoM, both did great.

The Good : Defense was rock solid.
The Bad : Still have a lot of trouble scoring :/
The Redden : Didnt really see anything "atrocious" tonight ?

Marty B or Staal deserve this one.

Marty needs to get put in prison for some of the shots he robbed. It's great when we can win because of our backup, not in spite of him.

and Staal was a horse tonight. He had Ovy's number all game and played rock solid defense. Our entire D-corp was very solid, especially Sauer and Eminger, and even MDZ had a real good game. But Staal put the padlock on Ovy hard.

yeah... no reason to keep my silly PGT when this was available... my bad for trying... lol

Great character win. And 3/4 in the shootout... wow... WW and MZA with sick sick moves and Arty's was beautiful... Marty bailed the team out in regulation/OT, the team bailed him out in the SO.
