For some reason it won't let me quote the post above me, but yeah I have that problem with the chunks of the PGT being all messed up.

Staal is my player of the game, but McDonagh keeps on impressing. Biron, too.

HenrikTheKing30's random thoughts from the game:

-Player of the Game: Biron. He played lights out.
-The lone Caps goal was totally on Kolarik
-Loved the play by Staal tonight. Completely kept Ovi in check.
-That move by Wolski was completely filthy.
-Zuccarello is 4/4 on the SO. Love the way this kid is playing. Doesn't play like a 5'7" player, very aggressive for his size. I like it.
-Wish Grachev got a little more ice time. I liked seeing him with Anisimov.
-Gilroy has been playing really, really well lately. He has looked really good in the offensive zone, and he is no longer a liability on D. He just looks comfortable out there.
-McDonagh is starting to look like a really good defenseman. It is early, but if he keeps this up, he'll be here to stay.
-The PP has to be better. We need the PP to get going to take the next step.
-Great team win here. They had no business winning that game. I love this team more and more every time I watch them.

POTG - Staal

The Good - the defensive effort in general was solid
The Bad - the power play is now in full blackout mode
The Redden - Ovechkin who attempted no less than 3 dives

Also, loved Zucs throwing his body around on the likes of Ovie. Kids here to stay.
You gotta change your avatar bro, that is an insult to any Knicks fans or even to Rangers fans for having that guy wearing that amazing jersey.

great job by the D.

didn't even think that biron would be the guy starting tonight. a bonus to come out of that building with not 1, but 2 points. torts has handled the goaltending situation perfectly so far this season. henrik won't be exhausted at all for the drive for the playoffs and in the case we do make it, probably he's the goalie who plays out of his mind that will carry these young group of guys far ( hopefully into june )

but, glen still could sure up some parts by adding a vet here or two. anyway, awesome game.

Tremendous team win. To limit such an explosive team to only 23 shots in the game speaks volumes to how well they played as a unit tonight.
The whole team deserves kudos, with Staal at the head of the class.
Honorable mention for Wolski and MZA for redonkulous moves in the shootout and AA for getting the winner.

The only negative is that they only scored one goal and even though they had many shots on net, many seemed to be fairly easy saves on perimiter shots. But a great 2 points for the Blueshirts.

Staal played his best game of the season tonight.

A well-deserved HM goes to Sauer -- man that kid is calm with the puck.

Awwww yeeeeeeeeee!

Such a satisfying victory.

Player of the Game: Marc Staal gets this one for me. Solid effort all around.
The good: Biron kept us in it & Wolski's "Forsbergian" move along with Zucc's continued SO success were delightful. Gilroy's steadiness and game really impressed me. MDZ looked much improved.
The bad: Watching Drury's effectiveness continue to deteriorate game in and game out. Not a knock on Drury himself, but he's really lost it. Depressing to see, really.
The Redden: No one was really that bad, per se... so I'll just vote for the Verizon Center crowd. Boom.

anyone see the live look in on the stars canucks game? canucks control the puck in the offensive zone on the PP, pass to the dman for a one timer, kesler in front of the net deflects it in. why cant we even attempt to do that.

Player of the game: Can I split my vote 6 ways for the Rangers defense? If not, Staal.

The good: The defense, Avery having another strong forecheck game, Gaborik scoring a timely goal, and Biron turning in an outstanding performance.

The bad: A national broadcast with the Caps announcer.

The Redden: Chris Drury.

Staal for me, Avery and Biron close

The bad: Not much - must be the PP

The redden i give the game center in Toronto for using WAY TOO MUCH time before deciding on a CLEAR AND BEAUTIFULL Gaborik-goal.

Well right after a huge gut-check win is not the best time for the servers to not play nice.

Wow, just looked at the shot totals for Wash by period

WSH
1st: 5
2nd: 6
3rd: 6
OT: 6
Tot: 23

Sure, OT is a bit large, but combined with the 3 allowed in the 3rd against ATL, I think it's safe to say we've got a decent defensive system rolling right now.

Staalsy was my POTG. He's just fantastic. Glad to see him receiving praise and recognition on a national broadcast.
