Ah crap didn't realize it was the last game before the break. We have a bad habit for those games to play flat because they are looking forward to the break. Play 60 min hockey!!!!!!!!!!

Awesome about Bob getting the start! He seems to be back to the form we saw earlier this year.

Please beat the Habs, I can't stand them (well, it's more their fans that I can't stand)! Let's Go Flyers!

With Price back down to earth, compared with the 3-0 loss in Montreal I unfortunately got to witness live, the Flyers should be able to put 3 or 4 past him. Having Cammalleri out removes one of the Canadiens' more potent offensive weapons, and if the D plays as shut-down as they did against the Blackhawks, it should be a satisfying win. Clear the slot and give Bob good views, and pick it up on the PP.

Please give me bragging rights yet again to use against the local Habs fans!

Habs, Flyers prepare for grudge match
Quote:
The Philadelphia Flyers earned a small measure of revenge in their latest game, beating the team that denied them their first Stanley Cup in 35 years in a series where they were decided underdogs.

If they get back to the NHL's biggest stage this spring, they might be heavy favourites.

The Flyers can close January with 10 wins in 12 games and add to their league-best 32 victories Tuesday at 7:30 p.m. ET against the visiting Montreal Canadiens in both teams' final contest before the all-star break.

Philadelphia (32-12-5) knocked off Montreal in five games in last season's Eastern Conference finals, a most unlikely pairing of the conference's Nos. 7 and 8 seeds.

The Flyers were considered a major underdog against Chicago in the Stanley Cup finals and went on to lose in six games, but on Sunday they gave the Blackhawks a look at perhaps the NHL's most consistent team. Philadelphia bounced back from a 3-1 loss to New Jersey less than 24 hours earlier by winning 4-1 at the United Center behind two goals from Jeff Carter and four assists from Claude Giroux.

"It was obviously a big motivation factor for us," said Carter, who has six goals in his last seven games. "Before the game nothing needed to be said. We all knew what was going on today, so it was nice to come in and get a big win."

The Flyers improved to 9-2-0 this month and have turned a two-point deficit atop the Atlantic Division into a five-point lead over Pittsburgh. They're four ahead of Tampa Bay for the conference lead.

Here are some comments regarding the comparison of this break to the extended Christmas break:

http://www.csnphilly.com/01/25/11/Fl...536&feedID=695

Quote:
Suffice to say, they remember well what happened just before Christmas and have been reminded about it several times already by coach Peter Laviolette.

“That’s one of the thing’s Lavy talked about,” said defenseman Sean O’Donnell. “Our last game before the break was Florida at home. These guys [Canadiens] aren’t Florida, no disrespect to them, but there is a little bit more of a rivalry and dislike for [Montreal].

“I don’t see that happening [again], but it’s always in the back of your mind before a long break whether guys will check-out early. But I don’t see that happening against Montreal.”

The No. 1-ranked Flyers have won nine of their last 11 games and are coming off an exhilarating 4-1 rout at Chicago on Sunday, so they should be primed against the seventh-seeded Canadiens, who are 6-3-1 in their last 10 games and batting hard for a playoff spot.

“Every game is different, every situation is different,” Laviolette said. “Certainly we weren’t happy with what happened the last time. There’s a new set of circumstances. You address it and try to control it a bit. We addressed it yesterday and it will probably be mentioned again [today].

Gotta love Habs fans.

So this game is a grudge match? What about the other games the Flyers/Habs have had this year?

Alrighty then.

It's a shame we only play these guys 4 times a year; Philly vs Montreal are always exciting games

Hopefully they don't come out flat like they did against Florida, although I agree with what Sean OD said about how the Habs are a rival so there's no reason for them to come out flat.

Is this on TSN tonight? Is that why we're 7:30?

VERSUS. The March 22 (home vs. Washington) VERSUS broadcast is listed as 7:30 as well as are some other non-Flyers' games.

It could be due to exclusivity requests and/or provisions.

I hope I'm not stepping on toes by posting in here buuut

Price isn't back down to earth. He's been playing a lot better over the last few games (10-15).

Good game tonight chaps.

A good game to be physical with really no one to respond in that department.

I just hope Carcillo plays so he can get PK back for that hit in Montreal last game.

No toe-stepping, 76. Nice to have your POV. My reference was relative to Price's inhuman early-season streak including blanking the Flyers at the Forum where he was stopping everything and then some.
