Someone like Ellis or Franson.

Remember when we traded 2 2nd round picks to Chicago for Sullivan that was within the division.

Agreed about Filatov not even close to pulling Suter or Weber. Lets try a package around Filatov for Blum. Fills both teams needs really. Columbus needs PMD and Nashville needs a scorer.

while i'm not lending merit to the source or the rumor itself, I could see the Preds taking Filatov as a risky project if the price was right. Consider that Sergei Kostitsyn was "damaged goods" and a "headcase" and would never even report to the Preds, too intent on cruising for the KHL.

That one has worked out pretty well for Nashville -- he's been one of our best two or three forwards throughout the season. Now, not much was given up for him...so...it would depend on the price, but I could see Nashville giving it a try, if CBUS wanted to ditch him.

I could see a trade involving Filatov, but it would certainly not be of the "ditch him" variety.

I soooo want this to happen. Filatov would be a great player/project for the preds.

I love how Eklund threads are started with something along the lines of "I know it's Eklund but..." If you know he's not credible, what's the point of posting his bogus rumors?

Eklund again, lulz

Any baffoon can buy webspace and post inane nonsense, it's only amazing that anyone gives him any attention.

most likely his next rumor will be Washington will trade Ovechkin to the Islanders for Nabakov in the off season to solve all our goaltending woes.

His character is suspect, but I would have to think that the Kings would be interested on some basic level. A line of Filatov-Loktionov-Kitsyn could be awesome in the future All we would need is to find another young defenseman and we could have a whole young Russian line and pairing going. At least, I would like to see it...

The only problem is that Lombardi wouldn't be willing to part with the assets it would take to get him out of Columbus, liability or not
