1st period: back-to-back-to-back penalties = 2 PP goals
2nd period: too-many-men penalty = killed any little momentum
3rd period: caving in = game over.

Can Habs Management get it through their thick heads that we will NOT beat the Flyers until we get some friggin toughness!!!

Players like Gomez will get eaten ALIVE in a seven game series!!!!!!

Plekanec was absolutley brutal. No passion in his game lately. I think he'll benefit from the break.

Martin is uber stubborn. All night he kept putting Plekanec on the first wave of the PP only to have his wave do sweet **** all.

Martin still hasn't adjusted to Laviolette's system. He keeps taking it up the rear. I really don't understand how Martin can't see the fact the flyers keep making the same play over and over again because they know Martin has his defense play a little passive and back up on the rush. It's super fustrating to watch the Flyers skate down the middle come over the blue line and flip the puck to a flying wingman...it really isn't hard to contain, other teams have contained, I don't know why Martin can't.

Really fustrating because the score didn't indicate the play at all. Three posts and three consecutive penalties for the habs cost them the game.

Perfect thread title.

Prior to the penalties, the Habs looked ok.

Subban is still a rookie... but we all know that...

In the words of Price... "relax, chill"

Yeah, that fall from 1st/2nd - 5th/6th without him has been epic. Martin always makes the right decisions, sorry for questioning them.

Thank god for my boys Darche and Desharnais. Holy crap did we not care tonight.

Desharnais, Pacioretty, Andrei, Darche and Hamrlik are the only guys who looked like they wanted to be on ice. Plekanec looked lost from the start of the game. He really has been off for quite some time. He put up some points recently, but he's not playing to the best of his abilities. Very, very passive in the offensive zone.

Keys to the game. 5 on 3 too many times will kill you against any team in the NHL. The game was handed to Philly.

I hate having a team that just finishes 6-10 every single ****ing year. The beginning of year was good, but being in 3rd gave me a false sense of security. Being a fringe team for a really long time starts to play head games with the fans.

Philly brings out the little girl in Pleks.

Can Habs fans learn that we didn't lose because we lacked toughness?

I feel like I'm taking crazy pills. The players that keep killing us on the flyers are Giroux, Leino and Briere, their 3 smallest players. We are not losing because of toughness. We are losing because their skill just owns Martin's system which he refuses to adjust against the Flyers.

You expect a GM to overhaul a team in less than a year? Get serious.

I think he want him to go on the ice and beat the hell out of the flyers in fights. Well, that's my conclusion on his rant

I will not talk about the indiscipline. Everything has been said already.
Let's talk about the laughable PP.
Not a single good shot on goal. Not one.
Nobody in front of the net.
The PP units were just dumb.
WTF is wrong with Martin ?

I like DD but if you're putting him with Pleks and Gionta who's going to play in the crease ? Certainly not Gionta who was awful tonight.
The recent PP success was because we started to create traffic in front of the net. There was none tonight. Darche who was our best player only played 1 minute on the PP.

Pouliot was MIA.
Subban played probably his worst game of 2011.
Gomez...well I'll censor myself. What a waste of money.

Turning point was Spacek's stupid penalty on the PK.

Geez, anytime anyone says anything about the coach actually sharing the responsibility on l'anti-chambre, they all go nuts.

Maybe I'm reading too much into this, but the boys almost looked 'scared' or 'timid' ... like they usually do when they face a physical team. Also, someone tell Eller to switch to wooden sticks, I'm sick and tired of watching him break 2-3 sticks a game, usually in important situations.

Our defense was pretty average tonight, lots of poor decisions, again probably relates to the whole size thing up front.

Can someone see if we lead the NHL in 'too many men penalties', we have to be close in this department.
