NEW YORK – On November 5th, Brian Boyle set a new career-high for goals scored in a season, when he scored his fifth of the season.

After his power-play goal tonight, he’s up to a team-high 18 goals and has become the biggest surprise on these Rangers, who lost to Florida Tuesday night, 4-3, to close the unofficial first half of the year at 29-20-3.

“You have to [expect it]. They do too,” Tortorella said. “They need to accept the responsibility. When they see they get to a level of play at a pretty consistent manner, they have to continue to stay there and also get better. That’s what happened with a number of our young guys, and Brian’s led the way. He continues to try to get better. That’s what I like about the club. The foundation continues to mature and continues to try to get better. They’ve got the right attitude as far as trying to get better each and every night.”

I agree on Gaborik. I thought he was a bit lazy against the cats. Especially at Fla's first goal, just sliding towards the bench while the Panthers were making a decicive play in our zone.

POTG: Zucarello - looked like his most consistant game so far

Good: The team effort in the third.

Bad: FOX Florida telecast. "....we deserve these goals..." said at numerous occasions. ****yeah.

Redden: AA on the GWG...

Yeah, I noticed Gaborik lazing it on the play and heading to the bench on that 1st goal. Absolutely inexcusable. I hope Torts ripped him a new ******* for that.

I fell asleep in between the first and second period. I hate the damn time difference between Norway and the east coast of six hours.

But it's always good to wake up to that Zuccarello continues to perform. Strong achievement to be involved in all of the Rangers goals. Just a shame that it was not enough for the victory.

Pleace exuse my weak english,but.....whats up with the crowd in MSG?
Why do they boooo out their most importent player on the team. Ok, Henke did not have the game of his life, but breaking down his coinfidence by yelling on him like this? Make no sense at all.
Next time, try to support him. It could help him raise his game up again.

Hope at least some of this was understandable?

And of course, Zucca is the man og the match.

The whole crowd is temperamental depending on game to game, day to day. A few things go wrong and someone has to become the whipping boy, in this case, Lundqvist, which I whole-heartedly disagree with.

Also, your english is fine . No worries.

Gotta say Stepan and Mza have impressed the most lately...

Stepan with 30 points in 52 games for a rookie is more than ok..

And what can you say about Zuccarello ? I'm lost for words...

It is really tough I know. Started following the Rangers in 2005 when Lundqvist went over, tried to listen to every game (no live streams back then). Dunno how many times I woke up in the morning with the radio on because I couldn't keep my self awake.

But it is different and makes you appriciate the sport more when you have to sacrifice yourself a bit, keep at it! Zuke is the man btw

There's a reason why Henrik gets beat by so many deflections.

Quite simply: he doesnt challenge shooters. Everybody knows that he plays deep in the net on every shot.

What CuJo, Richter and Brodeur were very good at were coming way out to cut down the angles. Also, if a shot was upcoming, they would skate above the crease to the closest forward, minimizing the chance of a tip in getting past them.

I just dont buy the idea that a deflected goal isnt entirely the goalie fault. Did any of you guys see Hasek play? That guy was deep in the nets all the time, yet he was the best in the world at anticipating deflections.

Goalies arent stupid. They know about the threat of a deflection. It certainly seems like a good portion of goals scored on Henrik are deflections.

Time to fix the problem.

POTG: Zuccarello

The Good: Team never quits working. Worked hard for 60 minutes!

The Bad: Unlucky bounces.

The Redden: Even more unlucky bounces.

Redden definitely goes to the 4th goal. Looked like a really soft goal for Hank; it hit his glove and just bounced behind him.

POTG goes to Zuc. 3 assist game, nuts. Met him after the game too, really nice guy.

Speaking of, we stopped Dubi and Steps for autos too. Asked Dubi when he'd be back, he said hopefully right after the all star break. As Step was signing my sweater, Sauer walks out hauling ass, winks at Dubi, and speeds away before anyone get get him.

edit: We also played a really good game for the most part past a few defensive blunders. Was really disappointing to have the Panthers regain the lead in the 4th.
My guess is Sauer was meeting a lady friend after the game and had to run. Don't hold it against him

You didn't get the point heh, I said when you lose all goals are bad. The concept of a "good" goal is dumb

Hank didn't play well. He should have done a better job of finding the puck on the last three goals. The third one was a bad rebound on a weak shot and even though the 4th one hit Ani, not sure why he couldn't locate the puck. But it certainly isn't as bad as 4 goals on 17 shots looks.

Of course there is nothing like a good conceded goal, but it is really a difference between a goal of a good shot or after good offensive play, and a crappy goal that the goalie slips between the legs from mid ice. That would been classified as "a bad goal. "

Because Ranger fans can best be described as erratic, irrational, emo, high school girls. They get temperamental and throw hissy fits when things don't go their way, they start spewing irrational crap and/or start throwing down trade proposals when we lose a game.

Oh, and they've never played at a competitive level, because - even though they're professionals - bad games are inexcusable. You are not allowed to have an off game, it cannot happen.

As some had said: Two goals went off AA, one was screened, and the other was a scramble in front of his net. He didn't have the best game, but it wasn't as bad as people think.

Oh, and one more thing: Grachev showed me absolutely nothing.

Seriously? Seriously. You don't know why he couldn't locate that puck? Clearly you don't play goalie.

Not having seen the game but judging from the highlights the players looked quite uninspired and played without effort.

Quite the contrary.

They played with a ton of effort but the 2 fluke goals off of AA were the difference maker(s).

They had a great start. Got scored on and kind of went into a lull. Scored to tie it and then fell asleep where Florida scored 2 goals in like a minute. Took them a little while to get back up to speed but when they did they dominated play. Not a full 60 minute effort. I would say closer to 30.
