I don't get to watch as many games as I'd like, but hopefully he's been playing like he did a couple of weeks ago vs Lake Erie

He was everywhere on a couple of Bulldogs goals.

Two goals for Boyd in a 2-0 lead over the Moose!

Apparently the second was a shorthanded beauty inside-out move. Listening on the radio.

And Boyd gets the hattrick empty net goal.

Avtsin seems to be on his line now as he had first assists on two of the goals. What's more encouraging than his 7 points in 7 games is the fact the coach trusts him on the ice in the last minutes of the game.

Sanford was the Dogs best player today imo. Nice goals by Boyd though, scored all 3 different ways (SH and EN)

15 points in 30 games for a 19yr old first year N.A. player is pretty damn impressive. Boyd getting tons of goals also helps for a potential trade down the road.

habs farm team was already in quebec around ten years ago. they didn t get much support. i think quebec city would resent hosting this team now that they are pushing hard for an NHL team.

That guy deserves more credit.

He leads the league in GAA (1.66) and save percentage (.941) while his teamate Mayer is ranked 36th and 45th in the same categories

I am sure that Sanford could still be a decent backup in the NHL.

Agreed, he deserves more credit. For Hamilton the past two years he's been outstanding but right now he's red hot. He's got 3 SO's in his last 4 starts, has won 10 of his last 14 starts where he gave up 2 or less goals in 11 of 14. The Dogs have a solid D but lots of youth up front, have lost their top scorers in Desharnais, Pac and Weber yet continue to win as they have rattled off 6 in a row currently and a big part of that has been Sanford. I'm sure he wanted to stick it to his former team and he did just that, stood on his head and made the big saves when called upon.

I shudder to think what would happen if he gets injured or traded (don't see it happening) would be scarry if Mayer was the starter. Not sure if Sanford would be a decent backup in the NHL, but I do think he may be the Habs best AHL goalie since going to Hamilton and that's with a great season from Garon, and some good ones from Halak.

I liked the first goal a lot, but he worked for the empty netter as well, so kudos to him on the natural hatty. Glad I played hooky to watch the game on the net as it was a big win for the Dogs to give them a little breathing room since the Moose are right on their tails (pun alert)

Good to see Boyd get back on track, he had only 1 pt in the last 9 games.

Boyd and Sanford should be in the NHL.

They're both good enough.

Great news with Avitsin.

Brought the Kids and a few buddies with their Kids, we were all Nailer Fans cause they know my son and I love the Canadiens so the whole tribe were nailer fans as we walked into the arena it was great lets go Nailers was the chant in front of a very big Trento devil fan base, it was great we were losing 4-2 till around 4 minutes left. then we scored a unreal 4 goals in a minute 46 seconds. to beat the devils 6-4. Loved it so much I'm planning a trip to scranton to see the Bulldogs everyone had a blast great hockey great price...
heres the story

The Devils took their third two-goal lead of the game on Zancanaro’s second power play goal, lifting Trenton to a 4-2 lead. Trailing by two, the Nailers went on an important power play with 4:31 remaining in regulation. Nick Petersen deflected a Kyle Bushee shot which slipped by Lerg to pull Wheeling with in one 4-3. Nearly thirty seconds later, Petersen broke into the zone working one-on-one and sniped a shot past Lerg on the glove side, to net the hat trick and tie the game at four. Over a minute later, Andrew Orpik fed the puck in the slot to to Kelly Miller who batted the puck into the net to give the Nailers their first lead of the game. Wheeling added an insurance goal just 17 seconds later as Petersen centered a feed at the top of the crease to Casey Pierro-Zabotel who belted the puck into the back of the net for the goal, to seal the 6-4 victory.

The game marked the second five-point game for Petersen, who posted five points at Cincinnati on December 18. Goaltender Peter Delmas improved to 3-0 on the season with the win. Prior to Saturday's game, defenseman Jason DeSantis was returned to the Nailers from the Wilkes-Barre/Scranton Penguins of the American Hockey League.

I've been to several AHL rinks but Scranton may be the best, nice views on ride.

I liked what I saw from Delmas in Hamilton, I actually thought he looked better then Mayer but that's not saying much.

Most likely, unless that he is hurt, there is no reason to sit a player of his caliber.

The Bishop-Masse-Dumont line has been the best so far. Dumont breaks his 26 game goal-less streak, gets his 3rd of the year off a shot from just inside the blueline. Bishop has 4 pts in his last 5 games and Masse has played well since his recall with 2 pts in 4 games. 1-1 after 2. Dogs are flat tonight. Nash with a bad turnover to lead to the 1st goal.

yeah but don't forget, A.Kost was there during Lock Out year... it was a lot better AHL at that time..

but it still impressive. you can look at all the 19 yo stats in the AHL this year, he's comparable to 1st-2nd round pick

The league that A.Kost have played in Russia is weaker than the one Avstin has played in.

Hopefully Avstin will stay in Canada next season even if he is demoted to Hamilton again. The kid is just 19. he could be ready for some NHL actioin midway next season. The money he coulod receive from a Russin KHL team might be a great attraction, though.

The one great thing about avtsin is his attitude and hardwork. I remember people posting about how he was going to the gym everyday and because of the fact that he left the KHL to begin with makes me feel that these claims are true.
