He should take over for Peter Loubardias on Sportsnet.

I'll remember him, assuming his time as a Flame is done, as a great personality and Iggy's right hand man but not for taking any pay cut.
there were rumours that he actually turned down a or a couple 1 way contract to sign a 2-way with the flames this yr..
he still has gas in the tank, he stll has legs, hopefully a team like mont. takes him.. if not than he can either retire or go bring some leadership to abbotsford.. always one of my favorite flames, i wish the best to him and hope to see him get some sort of role with the organization off-ice

Funny story, my brother got married a few years ago and they now live in Buffalo. One night we went to an LA Buffalo game and went out for a drink afterwards. We went to some hotel(I cant remember the name) where my sister-in-law tells me that Craig is actually her cousin. He is one of the nicest guys I have ever met. His team lost something like 9-1 and he came out with a bunch of his teammates to have a few beers and just sit and chat. Great guy, great player, great person.

If Staios gets much ice-time I think it will become quickly obvious the Flames won't make the big show.

Wouldn't mind seeing his work ethic on the Heat or if he has value getting a 5th for him. But please do not play him over Pardy / Mikkelsson

Pick him up Oilers! He can actually win faceoffs. 4th liner, pk guy.

On second thought, if they want to lose, they should not improve their faceoffs, penalty killing, or bring in a veteran presence.

edit - nevermind, didn't see that he had cleared. Abbotsford now? What do they do with him?

Gathering from the comments on twitter he will sit down and discuss his options with his family. He may just retire.

I'm sure it was a tough decision for Calgary to waive him and know that his career is likely over. But it was probably the right decision. If only the Oilers would follow suit with Strudwick...

I'd love to see Glencross and Conroy added to the Flyers for the playoff run.

it should be . The guy has been scratched forever and it's just another name in a long line of Flames that need to be booted. Jokinen and Tanguay next. They just have'nt won with them

i imagine both Tanguay and Jokinen have some value at the deadline if the Flames are out of it

He's a great guy to have around - I'm hoping Flames management sits down with him and asks him what he wants to do now. There must be something he can do for the organization now that his playing days appear over.

Staios is still a serviceable defenceman. He is a better option at this point than calling up a rookie on the farm. He needs some playing time. If the Flames make the playoffs, it gives them another option in the case of injury. If the Flames miss the playoffs, then they need to showcase him for the trade.

He'd probably drive the bus if they asked him...

Hopefully a better job than that is in his future with the organization.

Can't believe he cleared after St. Louis loses two has-beens. Guess with Oshie back and MacDonald coming back the need wasn't there anymore.

Agreed.

Feaster is listed as being the "interim" GM.

Hmmm.
