So we are 7th now with Habs moving up to #6, tied in points but they've played 1 games less. Thrashers are 4 points behind us, same amount of games played. Canes are 5 back with 2 games in hand. I dont see Canes slowing down to be honest. Fortunately for us I do see Thrashers slowing down.

Well, it looks to me like there are going to be 9 teams legitimately competing for the 8 spots come deadline time, unless Buffalo or Florida surges.

If we fall behind the Canes and the Thrashers without passing anyone, we likely wont deserve to be in the playoffs, let alone have a chance against Philidelphia.

So I think our fate is pretty squarely in our own hands.

All he's got to show for that is 3 SOG and -2. He is NHL worst -29. Next closest is Chris Phillips with -23.

When we get healthy, you think we can get to Philly or Pitt?

Me personally? I highly doubt it. I think we can play, when healthy, on a level with Tampa, Boston, MAYBE Washington and Pittsburgh through a 7 game series. But I don't think we'll be catching either of those teams in the regular season standings.

I think we've got a 15% or so shot at 6th, 40% at 7th, 30% at 8th, and 15% at 8th place. I'd just be counting our blessings if A. We get in and B. We don't play Philidelphia. We wont have to play Pitt more than likely because they'll default down to 4th place due to conferences.

if we are healthy and get a little lucky; but the way we battle is meant for playoff hockey in 7 games the harder worker is going to win the series 9/10 times

Red Wings score to make it 3-1 with less than a minute left in the third.

Edit - Red Wings 3-1.

AP feed says "Staal's pair helps Hurricanes finish off Islanders". Do they mean he had two goals?

Anyone else with CI find it odd how different the look of the games' two feeds are. It's so odd to me that some games have very rich colors that are vibrant & really make the HD pop where others are very toned down in comarison. The msg feed is pretty good.

Whenever I watch a non ranger game(almost every night) I check both feeds to see which actually looks better.

My guess is the poster wasnt referring to a 'pair' of Staal brothers but rather making a joke about Eric Staal's 'pair'.

While Staal is a warrior, unless his boys were dangling down and deflected a couple pucks my guess is the AP was not referring to THAT pair. Lol.

If his "pair" took a puck not once BUT TWICE ....AND scored 2 goals, I'd give him the masterton trophy right now

PS - "Ruslan 'in a one horse open' Salei" From the DET game was hilarious.

LOL I completely missed that. I see it now though, at least what he meant.

Another 1+1 game for Yandle and a 9-game points streak, lovely finish for the goal.

Really hoped Nashville would pull out the win in Vancouver, both goalies were excellent.

Glad you got it! Also I see everyone missed my "Erik Johnson nice goal on Conklin". It was on his own goal. He tried to clear it and buried it real nice.

#Caps sign Alexander Semin to a one-year contract extension. Team source says it is for $6.7 million.
