#1. He's not going to be moved. He has a NTC that he won't waive.
#2. The only player of interest that Montreal has (other than a guy like Price) would be Pacioretty, and Toronto would problably be better off just resigning Kaberle versus trading for Pacioretty if he's the only piece in the deal.
- Carter and a 1st
- Kessel and Bos 1st...no Kaberle and Tor 1st for Kessel....no fk it.
- Dustin Brown
- Clowe and a 1st
- he's not going anywhere he wants to retire without ever having to play past April ever again.
His value is a 12-20th pick in the 2011 draft, or a good second line prospect that has potential to be at least a 3rd line center. Examples from teams that could use him: detroit-sheahan, boston-spooner, etc. But I don't want to trade him unless I know we have a chance to get ehrhoff or pitkanen in FA!
Your going to want something for him in case he walks. Burke might look elsewhere come the offseason. He will probably bring in youth for the backend.
I don't know about that. We already have a lot of defensemen as it is. Phaneuf, Schenn, and Gunnarsson will be here for another couple of years. Unfortunately, the same can be said for Beauchemin and Komisarek (itíll take a miracle for someone to take Komisarek off of our hands). Aside from these five, we still have Lebda (Oh God), Blacker, Aulie, Holzer, etc. who could probably play for the big club if they had to. I'm a pretty firm believer that Kaberle will re-sign, but I guess we'll see.
