I actually didn't know that Gretzky got his 5 goals to make it 50 in 39 against the Flyers... well... at least we are part of history.

Why the ****ing ****er **** is dumb**** Subban going to the ASG? I'm sure he'll punch someone out or go for the head in the game and not realize what he did. Whoever is coaching the team that has Subban, please not let it be Lavy.

I think he's just going to the young star game.

An ASG setting is perfect for a player like Subban. He can hot dog it all he wants and no one will really care when he screws up, it's a great chance to nurse his legend status.

There isn't a young stars game. PK will be there for the skills competition only.

Bobby Clarke, a player at the time, went into the Edmonton locker room to congratulate him, which was noteworthy in that an opposing player broke protocol. Gretzky asked Clarke for his autograph.

My biggest gripe (still) is that Richie isn't going. I mean seriously, let's break it down.

- On pace for: 28 goals, 77 points, +23, 23 PP points. 13th in league scoring.

- He's the best SH player in the league.

- 2.22 GAON/60 vs. 2.17 GAOFF/60 and consistently gets the toughest matchups in the league.

- And most importantly, look at his linemates. This guy has spent significant time with Nodl who wasn't even an NHLer before the season (and is now having a breakout year), Zherdev, and Carcillo.

I mean, holy crap, guy is on nearly a PPG pace playing with these guys in addition to phenomenal D and short-handed play, how is he not an All-Star!?!?!

Starting to sound like Richards didn't want to go.

yeah I really think Richards is nursing an injury, and he said in an article I saw that he wouldnt be able to be a replacement if they asked at this point, as he had too many family commitments over the break already or something

Paul Stastny's going to the All-Star game now.

Hurricane Jamie McBain is going to the rookies portion as Skinner's replacement (who was promoted to the big show).

I am so proud of Skinner - it kills me that he's not in Kitchener this year. He's the youngest player in the NHL, kicking ass, is so much fun to watch, and looks like he's about 12.

Charlie, what's the deal with Skinner and #53? I heard he's going to keep the number because he wore it in Kitchener too.

Richie said he wouldn't go as a replacement because he already had plans in place and it wouldn't be fair to the people he made the plans with.

He wore #23 in minor and peewee, but when he got to the Rangers, one of the veteran players already had it. He turned the 2 upside down and became #53.

Good enough.

Too many people now who just switch the numbers around.

He's washing his hair that night, and then is having Carter and Hartnell over for an all-night game of Scattergories.

They used music from Mike Tyson's Punch-Out during the fight. That is too awesome for words.
