replace Carcillo with Konopka, especially in the playoffs and Im game.Dont lose the toughness, no change in penalty takings, and add one of the best faceoff men in the game.

He blows. We don't need another "energy" type player. We have a solid team. I would just rather we get a winger who can actually score, be a veteran presence and a team leader.

And don't compare him with Gagne...EVER.

I would love to get either Williams or cole on the flyers. Both have previously played under Lavy. Hell, both would be nice.

What position does Colin Campbell's son play?

I think we need someone with size to go in front of the net, Hartnell is good but we need a second guy. It was a very underrated aspect of Gagne's game and I think we will need it come playoff time.

Erik Cole and Marty Reasoner would be ideal for this team.

Cole-Richards-JVR
Hartnell-Briere-Leino
Nodl/Powe/Carcillo-Giroux-Carter
Nodl/Powe/Carcillo-Reasoner-Betts
Where did you put Zherdov? Cole makes to much for us to add him.

Personally, I'd love to see Justin Williams back in Flyers uni, and definitely over Upshall.

Handzus?

My choice who isn't named Glencross would be Chad Larose: when I've seen him, he looks tenacious on his defensive assignment, can pot a goal on the rush, and is physical.

I never really checked it, but on this board I've read it mulitple times that we are able to add an annual cap hit of $3.6mil.

Zherdev could also go the other way...

I like how this team has the best scoring depth in the league and people still want another 50+ point guy. Should be fun one the Flyers have to go back to a traditional top/bottom 6 style team.

Also, don't want Cole.

Because those are things this team is lacking... yeah.

edit: I'm sorry. I can't let this go. We have how many guys with 10+ goals (or 15+ for that matter)? We have how many guys with 5+ years in the league? We have how many guys who are considered "team leaders"? I mean for ****'s sake.

We just need JVR back. When that happens, we should be perfectly fine.

JVR-Richards-Nodl
Hartnell-Briere-Leino
Zherdev-Giroux-Carter
Carcillo/Shelley-Betts-Powe

Seriously, 3 hugely offensive lines that show all kinds of crazy chemistry is something you shouldn't change.

what rocks is that JVR is earning a lot of trust from Lavi defensively. JVR-Richards-Nodl will be a great 2 way line

I'd still love to replace Nodl with a more offensively gifted player.

Nodl is just fine at this point, you still need to keep a balance of guys who know how to do their jobs, these are the types of players who will get you 2-3 goals and 9 pts over a playoff run, but they will be very valuable. He also fits well with Richards to match against other teams top lines.

Nödl has been a lot, really an awful lot, better than I'd ever have thought so far this season, but if you look at our team and want to strenghten it with one player at the trade deadline... Nödl kind of sticks out as the weakest part. I don't necessarily mean that he should be traded, rather perhaps put on the fourth line.

I mean... the goalie situation probably stick out as far more uncertain, but there's not many proven first rate goalies available that we also could get without sacrificing too much and/or also fit under the cap.

I agree with you. How about Cory Stillman? Does he have anything left in the tank?

I think the Flyers shoud go for a veteran with some deep playoff experience.
Personally, Im fond of the Panther's Radek Dvorak.

He's A+ on the PK and always has had a good work ethic on the forcheck.
He fits in seemlessly on the 2nd PK, Betts-Carcillo/Powe Line.

I dont think it would cost us too much to attain a guy like Dvorak.

Id offer up a guy like Oskars Bartulis or a late pick seeing how Dvorak isnt a premiere veteran ala Arnott/Fisher.

Any thoughts on Radek Dvorak?

Dvorak would be good. Fast PK guy with decent hands.

Reasoner would be great too, as he can take faceoffs. Betts-Reasoner-Powe would be a great 4th line as would Dvorak-Betts-Powe

When will people ever learn that regular season scoring does not transition to playoff scoring on a routine basis? Guys who win you games in the playoffs are guys who when they do not score can give you solid shifts every game and can play all three zones.

The goals will come with the guys we have in those roles, but teams are going to have a gamplan to be more physical in a 7 game series and all it takes is that and a hot goalie to shut down teams who lack the ability to run out guys whose role it is to get their nose dirty and get ugly goals, this is precisely why I am completely fine with Nodl getting regular minutes with Richards in the playoffs.
