I go to school at the University of Wisconsin in Madison and I just got back from the Kollege Klub Bar. I was tipped off that Pat Kane would be there and he showed up at Midnight with his posse. It was an amazing night, he and Jack Skille (former Badger) were really cool, but also plastered. Patty was wearing a Yankees lid, I barely saw him, he is so short. Some guys from the Badgers hockey team was there (Gardiner) and a few basketball players (Jordan Taylor). The best part was that nobody even knew who he was, until after a few hawks fans congregated around him. It ended up helping him out a bit as the hottest girls at the school danced with him.

I am not even mad at him for scoring that goal in OT, that is more on Leighton than him. I went to the bar with a majorly big hawks fan and my friend wished him luck in the All Star Game and Kaner said thank you and bought us a round of drinks. Toews and Jake Dowell (former Badger) were supposed to be there, but they didn't show up.

Coburn has almost reached his 09-10 season totals for Hits and Blocks already at game 50.

I'm not sure if this has been posted in our forum but possible new looks with jerseys for some teams. It was posted elsewhere on the site.

I like the Nashville white jerseys.

Jewish hockey player claims he was harassed

A Jewish hockey player sued the National Hockey League's Anaheim Ducks on Tuesday, claiming that coaches of one of its affiliate teams subjected him to harassment and anti-Semitic remarks.

Jason Bailey, 23, is seeking unspecified damages in the action filed in Orange County (California) Superior Court against the Ducks, the Bakersfield Condors and coaches Martin Raymond and Mark Pederson.

From what I heard. I also heard the word "enigmatic" used repeatedly to describe him. Enigmatic as in streaky. 0 goals in his last 15 playoff games, or something like that.

the first batch of them were weird. i felt like a lot of teams looked like they were wearing practice jerseys. but horizontal piping and color is making it's way back into the jerseys and i think they've done a good job, especially on the flyers current set.

edit: the leafs and islanders also cleaned their sets up rather nicely.

I like how everyone *****ed and complained between the 2006 Olympics and the RBK re-design of just about every uniform, after only a handful of seasons almost every team is going back to something they used in the past, some it looks as recently as before the lockout, whereas others who don't have a history long enough to go retro...are going retro. Personally, since the re-design, I only bought two Flyers jerseys, and they both shrunk so fast I can't wear them even if I wanted to.

he's a PPG guy and in the past that carried over to the playoffs, but he virtually disappeared last year against the habs. he's close to that PPG pace again this year, but I really don't think he's worth $6.7 million to the caps, especially if they're trying to strengthen their defensive corps.

Alex Elder is having back surgery and is out indefinitely. Rumors say that he may be out the rest of the season. Makes the Canucks quite a bit less dangerous seeing he's their #1 defenceman and #4 scorer on their team.

Edler was involved in two heavy collisons against Dallas a couple of games ago. Initial word was the he just had back spasms and would potentially be back after the All-Star break.

That's a big blow to Vancouver; Edler has been incredible this year.

Good thing I traded him. Otherwise I would have lost Zidlicky, Edler, and Roy all to injury for the rest of the season (talk about some bad ****ing fantasy luck right there).

That really does hurt the Canucks thought. Should make the President's Trophy easier for us. Is this injury suppose to carry over into the playoffs though? If they lose him for the playoffs as well then that's a massive blow.

Apparently recovery time for this type of surgery is roughly 7 weeks.

Obviously not every case is the same, but that would be about the earliest they could expect him back (which would be more than enough time for the playoffs).

If that's true then it doesn't really matter all that much. As long as they get him back for the playoffs and there's no lingering effects on his play, they'll be fine. They're good enough of a team and high enough in the standings to be guaranteed to make the playoffs without him. Only way it could really help us out is in winning the Presidents Trophy.

Are there going to be any streams of the mock draft on the NHL Network?

Should I drop Booth for Jamie Benn (DTD)? Or would it be better to only roll 5 D rather than 6 and drop Subban/Mezaros for him?

Update: The surgeon believes he'll be ready to go in 8-10 weeks.

This probably made for some good entertainment:

Quote:
One player has two gold and two silver medals at the World Championships, as well as one World Cup championship, and was a member of Canada's 2006 Winter Olympic team. The other player has 188 penalty minutes in 83 NHL games.

But on Thursday, Phoenix Coyotes wingers Shane Doan and Paul Bissonnette were each granted equal captain's powers by That's Hockey host Gino Reda to choose their all-star squads based on the players that are available for Sunday's All-Star Game.

They both had to follow the same rules that all-star captains Nicklas Lidstrom of Detroit and Eric Staal of Carolina will have to follow when Friday's actual selections are made at the NHL All-Star Player Fantasy Draft (TSN, 7:30pm et/4:30pm pt).
