Tangradi, a second-round draft pick by Anaheim in 2007, is tied for the Wilkes-Barre team lead with 17 goals and has totaled 29 points in 40 games for the Penguins in 2010-11. He has also recorded a goal and an assist in nine NHL games with Pittsburgh.

Bortuzzo, a third-round draft pick by Pittsburgh in 2007, has two goals and 16 assists in 45 games for Wilkes-Barre/Scranton this season and is tied for third among AHL defensemen with a plus-17 rating.

As I've said in the prospects thread, it's pretty ****** that Jeffrey isn't able to play in the AHL all-star game but what can you do. It's good to see some Penguins representation in the game however. One last thing though, Jeffrey is the WBS's best C this season and he's missing the all-star game. Crosby, Pittsburgh's best C is missing the all-star game as well. Will be interesting to see how they both return after the break and the similarities between them.

I'm just happy that Jeffrey is showing signs of being a solid NHLer at just 22 years of age. The kid's got talent!

Jeffrey probably went back to Pittsburgh to pick up girls. Why hang out with a bunch of sweaty, ugly dudes, when you can hang out with girls?

Watching Jeffrey last night it was very transperant that he is too good for that league. He stick handled and maneuvered his way through guys as if they were high school kids playing pond hockey.

I don't know what his personal reasons are but maybe he just said "yawn not doing it."

Yeah. I would really like to see Jeffrey given a full time spot next season. Hopefully he can adjust to wing, because he seems to have the skill and speed to play the role we need.

It may not mean anything, but I do believe that Jeffrey played wing last season for Wilkes-Barre. Supposedly that is what enabled the Penguins to deal Caputi. I can not remember where I read that, but I think it was one of Ian's articles. I do believe that Jeffrey would be a nice fit on Crosby's line.

Congratulations to Bortuzzo and Tangradi as well as John Hynes (All-Star game as a rookie head coach) and Theissen/Curry.

Sorry. I am not trying to chain a bunch of posts up. I just woke up and am slowly waking up. The thoughts are randomly coming to me. The Penguins have representatives at all three All-Star games in the forms of goalies. When was the last time the Penguins had that happen? Fleury, Theissen, and Killen. Nice organizational depth that way. Congratulations to all of them and the Penguins' organization for developing them.

Kind of odd to me. Tangradi isn't really an all-star just yet an Bortuzzo is a defensive defenseman.. he does have 18 points but I didn't think that'd be enough to be an "all-star"

I wonder if Jeffrey is better suited for a top 6 role than Dupuis?

Not sure if this is sarcasm or not. But assuming it isn't, Jeffrey has a much better skill set than dupuis. Dupuis is faster. that's all. Jeffrey needs top six minutes

Jeffrey's skating has got a lot better. He looks pretty quick out there at times. Still not Dupuis speed obviously, but pretty good nonetheless.

BTW, Tangradi had one assist and Bortuzzo had 2 goals in the ASG.

Wasnt Jeffrey playing LW with Letestu last year?
Not sure who their RWer was.

He might be ideal for playing with Malkin if were going with the 3 centers.
He can take his faceoffs and the fact that hes not incredibly fast wont hinder him.
