When has the LA times ever been accurate in reporting in the lockout?

This is not the first time they reported a deal in principle

I will believe it when I see it. again. Both sides have allready stated that a agreement has not been reached based on a report in yesterdays LA Times.
I think we better hold off any congrats to any writer being the first to break the story until the NHL and the NHLPA both announce they have reached a deal.

I am pretty sure the is. If I remember the last one was a NY paper. (I am thinking Newsday)
The Times was tricked by the players, like the Hockey News on the Gretzky/Lemeuix Black Saturday thing

Helene Elliott said the NHL and the PA did not deny the story , just that an agreement in principal has been reached, she sais more than one person that have been consistently right throughout the lockout gave her the information. Highest a player will be able to make is 7.4 million if the league salary cap is 37 million or 20% of what the league salary cap is. Told there will not be a big announcment but just a press release, the main rollout will be after everything is ratified. That was basically it though, she still believes that they will be working on it throughout the weekend and what will be a finished document or very close to a finished document will be avaliable on Monday.

Best quote by Bob McCowan after the interview - "Who gives a rats rectum about who said what and when they said it, when theres a deal theres a deal until then im bored with it."

So another week has passed and no deal, big surprise

...

Can we say another draft party at the bowling alley?!

I'm glad the game is finally coming back but i'm a little scared that they'll change the game too much. Hopefully it'll still retain the same feel as before.
