97.5 is unbearable now because they just beat to death the same eagles topics over and over. Once Phillies season starts they aren't so bad.

Thats just it. On Monday all they talked about was Jay Cutler.

Mike Missanelli's lack of hockey talk probably stems from the fact the ESPN doesn't carry hockey right now, so why talk about it if it'll encourage people to watch something other than ESPN.

Now that I think about it, that's probably why he "liked" the World Cup- ESPN carried it.

That being said, he doesn't understand hockey anyway.

I think the general problem is that a lot of the radio guys, and to a lesser extent some of the newspaper guys, have become so complacent in their jobs over the past several years, that quite a number of them simply do not watch sports and only read headlines. I don't know if these guys are lazy or stretched too thin, but it's obvious that their job is to comment on local sports, and to do so effectively, you need to watch every game and pay attention to all coverage details. It does not happen.

On another note, Eskin's rant the other night about Roy Halladay should absolutely tank his ratings due to its unwarranted mean-spiritedness, and should (quite frankly) get him fired for its blatant misrepresentation of facts.

comcast's "insider" knows very little about hockey. Why should we expect a random radio guy to know any more.

In fairness, Comcast's "Phillies Insider" pretty much broke the Cliff Lee deal locally.

Dont get me wrong I love all sports especially football, and usually tune into the baseball playoffs, and most canadian sports fans are the same, but hockey rules here, to be able to go out to the bar saturday night with everyone into the games is awesome

to add to this im from northern ontario where there seem to be alot of older flyer fans due to the bobby clarke days, I also know the barber(bill) brothers as they live not too far away, and giroux grew up a couple ofhours away. Lets just say the flyers fans here are almost as widespread as leaf fans

wowwwwwwwww what a bunch of haters

god forbid they don't talk about the flyers and a second tier sport in this country.. Eagles are the big dog with the Phillies being a very close second.. guess what? it is football season.

i agree though, Mikey Miss is a TOTAL hater of everything flyers. with that being said, he doesn't have to like hockey because all of his listeners are primarily football fans.

ps. is "flyer rob" on this board? he always calls in and is very knowledgeable.

His remarks on soccer and the World Cup topped it off last summer.
What did he say?

Eskin was being his typical douchey self because Halladay hasn't talked to him. He claims Halladay wont talk to any media (meaning himself) but Halladay has given a few interviews about the rotation.

I don't listen to him I just caught it on multiple blogs.

This one has a recording of his douchey ranting.
