There is a prefix for "Eklund" so people like me don't have to waist there time looking at a "rumor" from Eklol. Next time please use it or don't even post the rumor. Thanks.

I'm not even sure they can be called rumours and not "insane babbling from a bored and lonely mind"

This actually is a real rumour. I've heard it discussed on the radio. Phillips is the ideal D partner for the Big Z. Though I personally see the Bruins going after a more offensive D-man.

That's why Eklund listed it; he heard what I heard, probably.

A plagiarist of rumours, that's his game.

That's too much for a rental that's obviously lost a step. However, Boston is indeed a strong possibility for Philips. They would more than likely be temped to trade their 2nd first rounder but I don't see them giving more.

Yeah that's not going to happen, Knight and Spooner have been doing well and were not giving that much up for a rental.

Highly doubt they give up a first rounder...

Maybe Hamill + Minny's 2nd + Bos 3rd

Perhaps not enough... not sure.

I don't think he meant Knight & Spooner, I think he meant Spooner or Knight. Makes more sense cause that would be a huge overpayment even from a Sens fan perspective.

The buzz around Ottawa is that the Sharks, Bruins and Canadiens are all very interested.

The asking price for Phillips is going to be picks/prospects and the prospects need to be skilled forwards. So, Boston would make a great trading partner in that regard. Knight or Spooner would definitely be the asking price. I would prefer Spooner since I've been watching the kid play since he was 12.

On a personal level I'd prefer Phillips to go to Boston over Montreal or San Jose. The Bruins have an extremely likable team and it would be great to see Philly win there with Chara.

EDIT: If you really believe Phillps couldn't return Spooner or Knight then you need to take off the homer glasses. He should probably return one of those guys plus a 3rd round pick

A deal that makes sense.
So Eklund wants to be the first to "call it"

Chara with Phillips would be a decent pairing.

Doubt it,

The Bruins don't need d-men like Chris Phillips, I like Phillips but anyone who has watched a Bruins game this year can see that the Bruins lack puck moving d-men and don't have a quaterback on the power play, Chris Phillips does not fit that mold at all.

He would still be a useful player come trade deadline time but just not to a team like the Bruins who are already full of Chris Phillips type d-men on their roster.

not really - i don't see the bruins dealing either of those guys. their draft picks (aside from the TO#1) and zach hamill are the likely trade chips for whatever they do at the deadline. and phillips doesn't fill their most glaring need which is a PMD that can run a PP.

the people that feel the need to rip Eklund every single time a rumor gets posted are more annoying than Eklund himself.

we get it.

wouldnt be a terrible move, guys a steady vet, but like TJF said, he isnt necessary in that mix.

Could see Chia sending some sort of overpayment Ottawa's way in case he's planning on filling our GM vacancy at the end of the year

OTT would take the picks as well. I'm just stricktly talking value here. 2nd + is what they'll be asking for. Spooner and Knight are recent 2nds etc.

If I were Chia, I'd be looking at PMDs as well. Phillips makes them a better team but a top 4 PMD would be a better fit.
