parise would be a great return for Burns, certainly, but we've got no first pairing defensemen in our system making this a tricky proposition for us. It would be very hard to pass up but i don't think we could do it unless we made another significant trade to help the blueline.
Parise would be God in Minnesota. But no way do they trade for him, they'll take their chances if he won't sign an extension in NJ. Burns will sign an extension because he loves Minnesota. Backstrom however can be had but that's about it. Wild need their prospects and draft picks. Don't see a trade like this happening. If NJ signs him to extension good for them. Hell of a player. I drool over Parise and Koivu together tho
big pass. the Devils would want elite talent back (Backstrom is, yes, but goalies have significantly less trade value than other positions)
Which is why I said there is an impass.
Getting Burns out of the Wild (even for Parise) is about as likely as getting Weber out of Nashville for Parise. Sure, it seems logical, but both those teams would probably want to stick with the devil they know.
Would rather keep Burns than trade him for Parise, especially if the Wild have to add. Wouldn't mind taking back Rolston in a trade too, but aside from Burns/Koivu, don't think there's anyone on the Wild NJD would want for Parise.
Kuemper wouldn't be a bad guy for NJD to target at all, completely dominating down in the WHL and could be a goalie of the future, but again, I'm guessing since he was a later round pick he wouldn't be valued highly.
