I doubt he'll be ready for game action in seven weeks, but if Theo is looking decent and we're getting offers, I have no problem with Khudo playing backup for the last month of the season.

I wouldn't mind trading Backstrom. I mean, I admit, he's won us games this season, absolutely. But 6 million is a lot to be spending on a goalie these days. However, by that same logic, Backstrom doesn't have a lot of trade value despite his playing well.

Nobody is picking up Backstrom's $6m salary. Also, the Earth is round.

Backs isn't going anywhere for a couple of years, the only shot to trade him is in the last year of his contract and we're out of it or whatever.

I think we need to get that idea out of our heads because no one is going to want to trade for him plus he has a NTC/NMC. It's just not going to happen.

Anyone knows how's Josh doing? Is it possible that he will play some games this season? I ask because he's my #2 goalie in keeper league and if he doesn't play at least 1 regular season game this season, he will be useless for me...

Haven't heard anything and doubt he's coming back at all with Theodore here.

He's still rehabbing.

With three goalies playing pretty above average right now they'll keep him on IR the rest of the season unless Fletcher gets some intriguing offers from other teams for Jose or Anton.

Same thing as Josh. They may be ready before they are expected but there isn't a roster spot for any of them outside of being a healthy scratch. Keeping them in LTIR for the season keeps their salaries off the books. Not sure if it would make a difference or not, but Harding went down before we obviously signed Jose to a $1.5M (I believe) deal. Not sure what it would be pro rated or anything. Jimmy is a center and we've already got four centers that are playing better than he would anyways. Let them do their own things to get ready for next season.

That is if we hold onto all 4 centers. I know Koivu and Cullen won't be going anywhere. Brodziak will likely stay and Madden could go. I thought this was the year for the Wild to really evaluate Sheppard and see what he has so i'm assuming they will try and get a look at him. Could be in the AHL. Who knows?

I don't think Harding, Latendresse, Zidlicky, or Bouchard were ever put on LTIR, so if we ever go over the cap they can retroactively place those players to spend over by that amount.

Sheppard was suspended so he didn't hit the cap at all.

My guess is Sheppard battles Almond for the fourth line spot and loses, goes to the AHL, 50/50 shot he gets claimed, oh well.

That may have just been heal time. I have NEVER heard of someone full recovered from a knee tear in 3 months. With rehab it generally takes about 6+ months. At least from my knowledge.

Yeah you are probably right. But lets see he tore it in what? September? So that is now 4 months. We could see him late February at the very earliest.

It depends on what is torn, but an ACL tear is usually six months at the very least.

Russo mentioned that Latendresse, Harding, and Shep are all doing some light skating.

what are the odds we even keep harding on the books? he's proven to be less than durable and has little to no trade value on the market while we have a passable backup in Dobby and a couple probably future number one goalies in the system behind him. That is if Dobby re-signs or splits.

I think the likelihood of Khudo leaving is precisely why we'll keep Harding around.

If memory serves, Khudo was hesitant to sign with us this year. He wants an NHL job, and while I don't buy it long-term, his stats have been damned impressive for a rookie...

Who knows.

Saturated Goalie market still, unless he plans on KHL. Although he does deserve a backup role somewhere.

If memory serves, the complete lack of other options was the only reason he signed with us. Who knows if that'll happen again this offseason, maybe he's going to hit the bank and go to Russia for a couple years? Maybe he'll try and fight for a backup spot?

He's got some options, that's for sure.
