I agree. Sign him for 3 years - hopefully on the same deal - this offseason.

I don't see Kaberle taking much less than six per.

Kaberle, if he were to re-sign with the leafs WITH a NTC like he has now, would probably come in around 5. Maybe low 5s. Not much more. He'd take a bit less to stay here.

Why would he re-sign with a team that has shopped him repeatedly during the past few seasons though? I mean, is there any indication that he would?

It happen to Tampa, it happen to Ottawa and it will happen to a bunch of other teams who have chosen to circumvent the cap with it's loop holes to keep a team of multiple guns together.

The cap will soon make it's purpose if people haven't noticed parity is the name of the game these days and it's the teams that has the most DEPTH that contends not the ones with the best star players.

Well, can you name a lot of teams who won the cup without a single premier offensive player? Doesn't seem to happen much, as far as I can see.

if he leaves it won't be because he doesn't WANT to re sign it will be because he doesn't fit into the driection of the team Kaberle loves being a leaf and has been incredibly loyal to the team and the city of Toronto sometimes to his own detrement

Problem is most people here on HFBoards have little clue about what the norms actually are around the league and then they spout what Toronto needs (while holding them to a standard that doesn't exist elsewhere). Always amusing.....
You genuinely think we're all being unreasonable! Dude, snap out of it. It's better that way. The world isn't actually conspiring against the Leafs.

Well, is there something more tangible than your inner conviction to underpin this, such as an actual statement? It seems a bit unlikely to me that anyone would want to resign with a team that has been trying to deal him at every opportunity for three years. I mean, what'd be the point?

IMO any team trading for Kaberle will be signing him to an extension, otherwise Kaberle will not waive his NTC.

If Kaberle and say Vakoun ended up in Detroit, which I think one will, at least, they will be very very scary.

Yeah it linked to a Youtube video and the poster himself said something along the lines of "Imagine the reaction if that happened?!"

I admit I do. Because of the size of Toronto there are just soooo many of you which means lots of boneheads...similar to that of Yankee fans except their team is actually good. No disrespect intended..

I get the impression that he's had enough of the TML and will walk this summer...just an impression I get.
