What do you all think?

I've heard ATL is looking at Versteeg, and who couldn't use a couple Vets who won cups for your first playoff in a while (not sure how long it's been for ATL, but they've never really had the hope that they have this year).

Makes sense for Toronto for obvious reasons. A top 6 winger now and for the future.
Well of course it does.

Burke might as well throw in a bottle of lube too

Reimer's played 8 games in the NHL. He was a 4th rd pick and has had about half a season's worth of AHL games where he put up decent numbers.

The point is that I've seen many many rookie goalies who with a short sample size have put up great numbers and then failed as they progressed in their careers. I'm not saying that Reimer won't be good because he could be ( I don't have my crystal ball with me) but if you had a deal like this looking at you with a return of Evander Kane, you take it 100% of the time.

Q: Why does Atlanta want to trade Evander Kane?

A: They don't.

No..Atlanta would want something like this probably:

Evander Kane
2nd Round Draft Pick

:thrashers
Luke Schenn
Nikolai Kulemin

As a Leafs fan I wouldn't do that deal simply because I believe Schenn will be a Leaf for his whole career and to me is our franchise player, who will one day be our captain.

And I love Kulemin

Because Schenn/Kulemin for Kane is not fair at all for Toronto...

I understand Kane has a-lot of potential but right now he's no better then Kulemin and Schenn has got to be at-least on the same level as Kane in terms value to their respective teams.

Why would Atlanta consider this??? Atlanta will not be trading Evander Kane anytime soon. Don't get me wrong, would love to see this for sure....but not going to happen. Any team would have to blow Dudleys mind to get Kane.

Sure isn't fair for Toronto but this still would not get it done. Kane has the most upside of all players involved. He is their potential franchise player. Teams tend to keep on to these types of players as long as they can.

Well as long as Kane isn't wildly overrated or anything

Tough to consider a stay at home defenseman a franchise player - has there ever been a 20-30 point franchise player?

The thing is Atlanta is not looking to trade Kane. Also the Leafs are not looking to trade Schenn. This doesn't mean that the trade will go down because both teams hold their players in high regards there fore the trade must make sense.

Here's my proposal:

Every Leaf fan's proposal must be mention that it is from a Leaf's fan (just like making it known it is from Ecklund or Hockey Buzz).

Then the proposal is reviewed by a moderator before it can be posted so that the stupidity of the proposal can be assessed.

Then if it is in the 1 percentile of an actual common sense proposal, it may be posted to the main board.

If it is part of the 99 percentile of stupid proposals, that person is banned from making additional proposals until they realize the Leaf's have approximately 3 decent assets to trade.

Once they realize that those 3 assets are assets they do not want to part with, they are further banned to be a blogger on Hockey Buzz for the rest of eternity.
