We can move Martinez, maybe that's why he's up here, to up his value. Voynov is deserving of a call up, how about Penner for Martinez, Teubert & a pick
Then VV can grab A-Mart's spot
I like that proposal way better. EDM gets a guy that is a roster player; can move the puck, play responsible defensive. Also they get a Prospect with front of the net clearing potential. Teubert can turn into a twenty plus minute eater. Throw in a pick done deal.
Plenty of puck movers down in AHL playing well to replace A mart. Muzzin would most likely be recalled.
As much as i like Penners game and i really would love him here in L.A.
i wouldn't give up too much for him.
It's not Penners game it's Terry Murray who would turn him into a 15 goal forward instantly.
And i'm not willing to part with Forbort for a 15 goal guy.
Get rid of Murray and bring in a real hockey coach and i'm all for that trade.
Right now i would offer Hickey + something or one of our young NHL ready defender not named Voynov.
I kept Schenn out of the deal because I know how high your team is on him and he is a foward which you are not as deep in. But Forbort would have to come back the other way for Penner or it is a no go so I guess we can't get a deal done. If you want a 26+ goal scorer you are going to have to give something up and that is not going to be Hickey.
Lets be realistic on this one, we are rebuilding and Eberle is part of that rebuild, you've made enough post on here to know that you don't give a player like that up in a rebuild. That is like saying when your team rebuilt you traded away Kopitar or DD.
You just don't do that.
please don't compare eberle to DD or Kop. Your talkin 2 different levels here.
Doesn't it make more sense to move some current depth as opposed to someone that won't be ready until 2014 or so? Prospect pools need constant refreshing. We have depth now, move some of it. You absolutely have to keep the future in mind.
Because Muzzin, Voynov and our other more seasoned prospects are going to turn 30 in 2 years?
Trading Forbort for what we need now (Penner) is ok by me. That is a good hockey trade. Give the Oilers what they need (build for the future) while giving us a solid player in his prime that fills a need.
