Fantastic GDT - thank you MSE! Love the song choice too!

Tampa scares me - Stamkos is so good and he and Downie are great together. Time for the Flyers to start the second half of the season off right!

LET'S GO FLYERS!!

BTW I dont see TB as being such a great team. Their defense is terrible, and looking at that forward lineup, looks like only Stamkos and St Louis are doing well.

Malone, Lecavalier, and even our Gagne (injury notwithstanding)... looks like their performance has fallen off a cliff.

Pffft, two good forwards, both playing on the same line. Big deal.
It is a big deal. Two forwards on the same line in the Top 5 for points and 2nd in the Eastern Conference, 1st in the Southeast.

Roloson is in net, Boucher hasn't officially "confirmed" it yet but Roli is in. Gagne has been hot lately, 5 goals in 8 games and is really starting to become a presence out there but is back on Vinny's line, Downie is back on the top line with Stamkos and St. Louis. Purcell is another hot guy right now with 5 points in his last 2 games. Malone is likely out, Ohlund and Lundin are questionable.

Here's a to a good game.

Shelley missed practice with the flu apparently.

Also JVR isn't 100%, but is close. No word on if he is playing or not.

Quote:
Jody Shelley and Oskars Bartulis both missed practice yesterday, but they did accompany the team on its team flight. General manager Paul Holmgren said both players are "just getting over flu-like symptoms.'' There is no word as to whether Shelley will be available to play tonight . . . James van Riemsdyk, who sat out the last two games with a lower-body injury, said he is not 100 percent yet but "is taking the next step'' and getting closer to feeling normal. "It was a good time in the schedule, we had those extra days to work with,'' van Riemsdyk said. "It feels good. I'm happy it didn't turn into anything worse.''

Well, then we know who to put out top 2 D out there against.

And then Gagne can get our other top 2 D.

And the the final top 2 D can take care of Teddy's line.

Seriously though, if Randy Jones is out there against any of our top 3 lines it's a plus. And our forward depth might be the only thing as scary as the top line the Lightning go with (which is very, very strong).

I think Purcell plays with Gagne and Lecavalier anyway, as Malone is injured

Gagne struggled for us last year but then he like led the league in goals during the month of March or something.

Yeah, I wasn't really sure, I just did it to go along with my little joke. That's not a bad second line at all, Purcell is a little more than a plugger there.

watching the Roy meltdown, after the KO by Cote, and several other clips on youtube, you have too say: Roy is a psycho

Tampa really scares me. Their defense is suspect, but that offense is formidable. It's not even their depth, it's just that they seem to score at will. Hopefully we don't see another defensive disaster like the last time we tangled.

I am not big on so called statement games or message games so to speak. However I would really like to see the flyers come out and dominate in every area. Send that message to tamp and others that they are a dominate team. A flat out pasting would be nice.

The problem when we play Tampa and other high-octane teams like them is that we start letting them dictate the game and get caught up playing their style. Flyers win when they take charge and make them make changes.

We've done better with that this season, though.

I guess in the regular season they may do ok, but in POs such one-line teams dont go far.

Contain one big line and you shut down the team?? That's a weakness, not a strength.

But ur right, this is the regular season not the POs so they'll probably do well and give Philly a good game and tough fight.

In a PO series Philly'd take em out 4-0 or 4 games to one ... but that's a different ball game.

This will be a good "measuring stick" game, and one where I hope Laviolette plays the Richards line against Stamkos - St. Louis - Downie in a shutdown capacity. Hopefully, they can catch Roloson at one of his bad games.

Their Defense is awful and their bottom 6 is below average. Stay out of box and limit Stamkos/St Louis and we should win by 2 or more goals ! Watch for 1 of our lines to get all the scoring .

Does that leave us short one player if JVR can't go ?

I wish they would say something about JVR so I know whether or not to play him for my fantasy team tonight.
