So we’re not going to get ahead of ourselves. We’re going to take it one game at a time and try to get two points every time. It doesn’t matter where you play, whether you’re at home or you’re away. Every game is the same. Good teams, it doesn’t matter where they play. You’ve got to focus on one game at a time and not get ahead of yourself and be prepared to be at your best every time you go out there."

We put a lot into the game so it was just a great win before the break and everybody is happy and I am as well. Yeah. we really hung in there. It was a pretty long (shift) and when you have those guys in the zone like that, you just have to stick there because you have to try and out-battle them, basically, and put the puck in the net. You basically wear them down and they all were tired at the end of the shift, but we were lucky to just battle and put it in."

It definitely gives you some confidence and gives you a chance to get a point. You get a point out of the game. If they score there, it’s going to make it pretty tough on us to get a goal with only a couple of minutes left in the hockey game."

They came up, not only in the overtime and the shootout, but on the 5-on-5, there were a couple of plays that both goaltenders looked outstanding.
You have a shootout group. We put it together a couple years ago. There are seven, eight guys in there that are the shooters in a shootout. It just comes down to making a selection. In that selection with Stolly, I’m looking at a left-handed catching goaltender and a right shot. His read on that is to shoot the puck."

NOTE : Regarding LARGE SIZE IMAGES / YELLOW RE-SIZE IMAGE BARS ABOVE PICS, let me offer up one nice little suggestion ...
This will get rid of those pesky yellow resize bars over the top of some larger pictures ... as they annoy the hell out of me and maybe they do you also ?
- Go into/click on your "USER CP" {control Panel} up top left in the red bars
- on the left under 'Settings & Options' click on "Edit Options"
- scroll down to 'Thread Display Options', and then 'Please Select the Resize Mode'
- click on the 'Drop Down List Box' over on the Right of 'Please Select the Resize Mode'
- select it to "KEEP ORIGINAL SIZE"
- SAVE your selections !
There ... now don't that look MUCH BETTER

"The Kings' Days Off (Are Over)

When asked why the Kings have won three in a row, Murry responded...

"I dunno. Something internal in our system?"

And when asked if the Kings were going to pursue a top end winger at this year's deadline...

Murray mysteriously fell asleep.

FOUR IN A ROW!

HERE WE GO KINGS!

I would prefer to see our lines like this:

Smyth-Kopitar-Williams
Loktionov-Stoll-Brown
Ponikarovsky-Lewis-Simmonds
Richardson-Handzus-Clifford

Clifford shouldn't be on the 3rd line over Poni.

The play of both Smyth and Williams has warranted some time on 1st line for each.

I wish it was funny this time. Unfortunately, the Kings have put themselves in a position where it pretty much is. They have to go 6 of 10 or better on this road trip to keep themselves in the hunt. That's a tall order.

I actually don't think this road trip is that tough.

The games against Minnesota, Edmonton, Columbus, NYR, NYI, and Anaheim are all very winnable. On top of that, Pittsburgh could be without Sid/Geno, and Washington has been mediocre this year, they struggle against good defensive teams.

Philly and Calgary are the two games that have me worried.

Unfortunately for the Kings, Geno is supposed to be back for tomorrow's game or later in the week. Crosby is starting light skating, so who knows on that one.

I tend to agree. It could be worse. I only hope the players aren't thinking the same thing

I thought the same about the homestand that the Kings proceeded to win 2 games in as well. Hopefully you're right, and as everyone knows I suck at predictions, so this bodes well for the Kings.

The 3rd line of Clifford/Lewis/Simmonds has been the Kings best fore checking line since they were put together. There is no need to mess with what is working.
