Grier to Vancouver

A third line of Torres Malholtra Grier would be pretty sick imo. Grier hasn't produced much this year but he can still skate and is a good addition to anyone's bottom 6.

We'll take either Sedin... we're not picky

I'm a fan of his but his contract is a bit high and if we're looking to add pieces it's another C who can play on our 4th line (someone like Reasoner) or a top 6 power forward to play with Kesler. Plus, I'm not sure if he could push Samuelsson off the 3rd line and onto the 4th.

We've also got a very confusing cap situation.

I don't really think the Canucks need to touch their 3rd line.

Torres - Malhotra - Hansen has been fine this year. I think they'd rather address their 4th line with a guy like Marty Reasoner, as already mentioned.

Plus, Grier is loved by management and the coaches and has a NMC.

Then who do you consider to be on the Canucks second line along with Raymond and Kesler?

Right now Samuelsson is on the second line, so Grier wouldn't be pushing anyone off.

A 3rd? I don't know how our cap situation is now with the injuries and Hodgson beings brought up but I'd go with a lineup of

Ray kes Sammy
Torres Malhotra Grier
Glass Hodgson Hansen

That'd be overpayment if you ask me, but we'll gladly take it if we're out of the playoff race in a few weeks.

I'm assuming Buffalo want to get younger, Grier would be a valuable asset for Vancouver come playoff time so he won't come to Van that easy.

I consider the Sedins to be the first line and Kesler & Raymond to be the 2nd, aside from those two, everyone gets shaken up so much I rarely have people on hard-set lines. They get changed every few shifts anyways.

I'd take it even if we are still in the playoff race. I'd like to see if the young guys can get us there, and it's not like Grier is bringing anything too important to this lineup. He was great in last year's playoffs, but he's definitely lost a step.

Yes but you stated you weren't sure that Grier would bump Samuelsson to the 4th line, insinuating that you believe Samuelsson is on our 3rd line which he's not.

In all seriousness, Grier has a NMC that will make moving him extremely difficult, if not impossible.

And Grier has lost 2 or 3 steps since last year. He hasn't been good this year. At all

Not sure if Grier is interested in waiving his NMC, probably sick of moving the family around.

Grier isn't an upgrade to our 3rd line - he would be a 4th line pick-up which doesn't seem like a very good use of very limited cap space, and doesn't address any of our needs.

1) 4th line center
2) top 6 winger (unless Sammy or Raymond re-gain their form)
3) depth defense-man

I haven't seen much of Niedermayer play this year, so my opinion is based off HF board banter but hasn't Nieds looked pretty bad all year? I haven't heard much positive anyway.

Personally I think Reasoner would be perfect, but if Hodgson works out I think I would prefer him to Niedermayer.

I would be interested in Montador from Buffalo though

I feel the Canucks should get him just so we can have the Brothers Line v2.0 Sedin-Sedin-Grier
