I miss Downie. He was totally abused and misused by the assface that was Stevens. I can only imagine Downie under a real coach such as Lavy.....oh what could have been

Downie's a more talented, smarter Carcillo with way more upside. I get what our defense is doing for us right now, but I'd undo that trade every chance I got. I wanted to from the day it happened...I feel it was more than obvious Downie's problem wasn't himself here.

Edit: While I'm mentioning undoing trades...I chuckled to myself when Gagne took care of Zherdev along the boards tonight.

Please let Tampa and Boston lose to someone else in the playoffs. I would strongly prefer to not play them...

Right there with ya!! not used to this at allyears past it seemed we lived and die by the powerplay lately it seems we just die

Everybody in the league must be telling themselves "give the Flyers a powerplay and they will knock the wind out their own sails"

Hey guys I missed the game, but I was just checking TOI, did Giroux have an awesome game despite not scoring? The reason I ask is because the boxscore says he played 25:27, which is four more than the next highest, Carle.

In short, yes, he was awesome.

Ah well, time to regroup (again) and come out strong on Thursday.
that is one really good thing about this group is the short term memory. they seem to be able to put a strong effort following a stinker. On the flip side to that tho this team seems to have its worst efforts following a long layoff. I am 100 percent confident they will be ready to go Thursday night.

When Giroux was on the ice, he dictated play, no doubt about it. Hes one of the few people in the league that has the puck hit his blade and I get nervous.

With the two vets going to a final together you'd think reuniting them would've been a match made in heaven for a team with the goaltending woes we had last year. One would have to assume that they at least asked Chris' opinion on whether or not Rollie could be the answer. They definitely had me scratching my head when they didn't acquire him.
I doubt Pronger was the reason they didn't get Roli. Roli certainly wasn't the reason for his trade out of Edmonton.

I honestly believe Holmgren never had an interest in a goalie at the deadline last year. He said he never inquired about one and he seemed to be focused on upgrading at forward or defense from what was reported in the media.

It's pretty bad how woefully predictable it is that this team takes the first game back from every break as an optional skate.

And they've been against the Canucks and Lightning, which would be really good measuring stick games if they'd shown up. Now it just looks like we're not even in the same class. Ugh.

SHOW UP THURSDAY. I will.

I was surprised at Gagne last night. He threw a few hits. Were you still chuckling when Hartnell let Gagne off and just pushed him to the boards. He would have buried any other player, but let him off. So that is interesting that you mention that Gagne plays a king kong shift and we as a team powder his ass once again,

We are totally out of our element with them and they had a break just like us and pounced on us due to bad turnovers and that was it.....
I think he's just pointing out frankly that the second goal was a flukey bounce and that the third goal was defended well, sometimes it goes in anyway. Roloson made some nice saves, but I felt the flyers made it a pretty easy night for him by not getting in front of him and settling for low shots from far away.

there is no benefit of going on a week long vacation at this point all the while not skating for that week. I would bet they struggle the next 10 days as it will tkae them that long to get back into the flow and get their legs back. No way should htey have been allowed to have a full week off. 3 days then practice 3 days. this little break may come back to bite them in the ass when all is said and done.

Soo, Joe Mullen?

What the hell is the story with our PP? I think the problem is we have no presence in the front of the net. If we make a move at the deadline please let it be for a net crasher.

Team with better goalie won !
Leino was worst player on the ice again imo, can't count his turnovers anymore
New PP's s/b Z-Carter-Roo, Prongs,Kimmo
Harts-Briere-Ville, Mez, Richie
**** this messing up the lines ****, it ain't working.

Get Nodl the **** away from Ritchie, we are wasting Cannons abilities with him. Try Carbomb with him or trade Carbomb for vet winger and get Nodl to the 4th line where he belongs with Powe !

Tough 2 games coming up, we need to get rolling again, every Eastern playoff team got points last night but us and Atlanta

I think Flyers-B's part 2 would be awesome. Probably be the best series in years in the nhl.
