The Canucks would probably want a 2nd/3rd line upgrade. Beneficial if he is much younger than Samuelsson, with size, more aggression and better forechecking ability.

So I doubt Samuelsson will be traded.

Actually with Hodgson and Shirokov availabe to take Samuelsson's roster spot, the Canucks would not need a forward in return, but a 4th line centre wouldn't hurt either.

How about Cormier and Bogosian for Samuelsson, Alberts and Vancouver's 2nd.?

That's laughable.

No way would Mikael come to Atlanta. Jay wouldn't let Kovalchuk sign for top money. He doesn't believe in the owners/franchise (and he's not dumb to do so).
No NTC = no say in destination

the thrashers aren't trading their captain, Ladd for sammy. and vancouver isn't trading their most experienced playoff performer. anyone who wants to trade sammy clearly doesnt remember the LA series last year. the only forward i see possibly moving is raymond but then again i dont see it happening unless its a big upgrade that doesnt involve roster players. if it aint broke dont fix it

Really, there's nothing to be said here.

There are many players who interest me on Atlanta, but they aren't upgrades to our roster this season. Byfuglien or Ladd would be the only pieces I'd really want, and neither of them are available. So, ya, we keep Sammy and look elsewere.
