Please keep this kid away from Ottawa. He still has a chance of becoming a great starter, but that would never happen in Ottawa. Goalie graveyard where projects like this go to die.

Um, worst proposal I've seen in a long time.

You're not getting someone like Voracek without sending off Schenn.

I'm actually being serious, would Fisher and a 2nd for Mason actually work for CBJ fans? I'd do that in a second.

You'd have to take Pahlsson back. Fisher's production isn't enough to warrant starting above Vermette or Brassard. We're not going to pay him that much when we already have a 3rd line center in Pahlsson.

I see a lot of people labeling Mason as being cocky, and maybe he is, but to me, it seems whenever somebody claims a young guy who had early success and then took a step back they get the label. To me, it is more likely that he was the product of a system, and the system was exposed, an explanation I think stands up well considering how Pascal Leclaire fared upon being traded to Ottawa.

I think perhaps the expectations on Mason were too high after his rookie year and he likely needs a change of scenery. If he were dealt somewhere like New Jersey where he could work shoulder to shoulder with a veteran who has seen it all, and traditionally has a very goalie-friendly system, I would not be shocked to see his performance improve drastically.

there have been past jackets players (i.e. peca) who have called him out on a bit of an ego problem after he went off for ROTY.

if you watch him play, he will stand on his head for 48 minutes and then look lost for 12 and let in shots from the blue line that do not leave the ice. it's so frustrating because if he just played full games and didn't let goals affect him so much he would be a franchise goalie.. big if, i know.

i know it is an NHL11 pipedream fantasy trade, but i would love to move mason and voracek as a means to bring back parise to help us build around with nash.

lol.

CBJ goaltender to OTT pt.II?

how badly can they get taken this time?

honestly, he's not a bad goaltender, but he's not nearly as great as he looked either. and he's a guy who overachieved under a nice cozy defensive system, and ended up slightly overpaid.

would be curious to see what sort of market there really is for him though.

I'm sure it's been said before, this guy has no value right now so why trade him? I don't think anybody would be willing to give anything more than a 3rd for him.

I like goalies that have egos so long as they blame themselves when they lose too. I'll take him.

I can see Flyers landing him and Flyers roll with a tandem of Bob and Mason which is pretty good. Better then Bob, and Boucher. Not that they need a goalie but a goalie tandem of those 2 would be pretty sick for them. Perhaps Devils take him...Brodeur isn't getting any younger and he can take over for him in a Lemaire setting.

Avs should only acquire him if they intend on making him leave the game forever.

He wouldn't realize just how good he had it in Columbus until he met the Colorado Avalanche defense.

Don't see a big market for him. Maybe he will rebound if Hitchcock ever steps behind a bench again.

What has Voracek done? Kulemin is better and Kadri probably has more value. Voracek has been a disappointment thus far.

lolwut?

Kulemin hasn't done anything more than Voracek. In fact, he's 2 years younger and has outproduced him in both of their first two years. Don't see how a 21 year old with a 50 point and a season on pace to better that is a disappointment. I wouldn't trade Jake for either player.

Kulemins having a better season with less to play with. Voracek's been decent but I expected a lot more.

Hartsburgh was the reason Mason was allowed to continue to play for Canada despite allowing a few crap goals. Bernier **** the bed in 1 period and never returned. OHL bias at it's finest.

So 1 out of 3 seasons where Kulemin is on pace to score 4 more points than Voracek, while Jake is younger anyway. Yeah, huge difference.
