Player of the Game & The Good, The Bad, The Redden: Game #54 vs. New Jersey Devils

Player of the Game & The Good, The Bad, The Redden

The RulesWhat is the poll for?

You are voting for the player of the game - the one who put forth the most effort, who put the team on his shoulders, who contributed the most.

Do not vote for the player who had the best statistical game just because he had the best statistical game.

This does not mean you should not vote for the player of who had the best statistical game, but do not vote for him just because of that fact.

Who can I vote for?

You may vote for any player who dressed for the game and played at least one shift. If the player you want to vote for is not included in the poll, select "Other" and indicate in your post who you wish to vote for. In the case that I egregiously miss the player who everyone wants to vote for in the poll, I will count the votes in the thread.

What is this "The Good, The Bad, The Redden" nonsense?

It is my twist on the title of the famous spaghetti western movie, The Good, the Bad and the Ugly.

Since multiple players may have outstanding games and you can only vote for one player in the poll, this affords you the opportunity to recognize multiple players, or a facet of the team, for their commendable play ("The Good"). This also affords you the opportunity to rip players, or a facet of the team, for their particularly substandard play ("The Bad"). Finally, just as "The Player of the Game" affords you the opportunity to recognize the best, this affords you the opportunity to commend the crème de la crème of the worst, who delivered an atrocious performance, or whose singular (or multiple) bad plays directly led to the the detriment of the team ("The Redden").

Alexander Frolov Memorial Trophy

The Alexander Frolov Memorial Trophy is awarded to the player who most exemplifies the qualities that Alex brought to the ice game in and game out. Most notable was his talent for wraparounds. Thusly, this award is given to the player who has the most wraparound attempts throughout the game.

The award tonight goes to Vaclav Propsal, with 1 wraparound attempt against New Jersey.

I've been a fan of this team a long time and I've seen some nasty losses but I don't even know what to say about that last play.

As I posted in the GDT:

On a side note, if Girardi doesn't shoot the puck as hard as he can at Lundqvist's back on the 2nd goal, it's a tie game right now.

So ****ing lame.

****ing disgraceful loss. Voting for Prospal because he just came back from having one leg and looked better than most of our ****ing roster.

What a joke of a game that was...dominating the 1st to ******** the bed in the 2nd. Thanks alot, guys. Hit a ****ing open net, why don't you.

Vinny was good.

Torts and Henrik sucked.

I'm starting to think the Rangers would be much better off with another coach. Something isnt right when this team looks like world beaters in only one period of three.

Sure, it didnt help that Lundqvist played another bad game, but I think it's extremely safe to say that Torts shouldnt be confused with Vince Lombardi in terms of getting his team ready for games.

Awards:
We do have ****** luck, sure, but you also make your own luck.

This team continues to come completely unprepared each night. COMPLETELY UNPREPARED. How many ****ing time must we fall behind by multiple goals, and try to battle back? Yeah, it's great that we have the ability to do so, but it's ******** that it happens every other game.

Henrik **** the bed tonight. Oh well, goalies have bad games. We continue to miss open nets and look like a beer league team running the power play.

This is why I laugh when people say, "Torts for coach of the year!" or, "Let's go get a good rental!" This team is not consistent enough to go anywhere this year.

If Dubinsky and Anisimov learn to hit open nets, we win easily.

Player of the Game : Vinny Prospal

The Good : The third period effort once again.

The Bad : Henrik Lundqvist

The Redden : Michael Del Zotto, Tortorella for dressing Del Zotto over Eminger, and the fact that this is the third consecutive game where an opponent has been held under 20 shots and the Rangers still lose.

Missing wide-open nets.
Losing faceoffs.
Crap powerplay.

Pretty standard 2011 NY Rangers loss.

Some of the comments in the GDT are absurd.

Could have easily won the last 2 games.

Bottom line we didn't but why the missing the playoffs panic?

The Good: Prospal & Callahan
The Bad: Lundqvist
The Drury: Gaborik, has only scored goals in 9 games this season. The centers, can't in a faceoff for crap.

The Good: The season is almost over

The Bad: Losing to the Devils

The Redden: The entire crappy Rangers team, more specifically our invisible goal scorer, our goalie, Drury, MDZ for not being worthy of an NHL spot, and last but not least John Tortarella.

God I hate this team so much. I just wish I didn't love them even more than I hate them, that way I wouldn't have to deal with this ****. Oh well I guess that's what being a Ranger is all about.

Player of the Game: Welcome back Vinny P.

The Good: Callahan with 2 in 2, Zucc's passing ability.
The Bad: Avery and his "energy," faceoffs, Del Zotto, bad bounces, Henrik.
The Redden: The power play as usual, missing open nets, playing like **** and trying to come back in the third.

Over achievers all season.

1) Those who should be scoring are not
2) Those who shouldnt be scoring.....they were carrying the team
3) Now those who were doing the scoring are coming back down to earth
4) Sullivan needs to go.....our powerplay is whats killing us.
