I'll tell you what, I'm not that mad at the loss as I used to be. IMO tonight was the most shameless use of a trap I have ever seen. Even the Cup-winning Devils teams didnt sit four guys along the blue line.
Also proved that marty remains a system goalie. When he's a goalie in an offense-first system, he's a sieve. When he's a goalie with a wall in front of him, he's still a sieve but one with few chances against him.
The difference tonight was Marty was less of a sieve than Henrik
Wait a minute. Can I add that friggin town idiot Michaletti as my Redden for vehemently saying that puck went in?
In his defense, it looked like it could have went in from the angle that was shown when he said it. Then they showed another couple of inconclusive angles and then the overhead (where you could see it just hit the post).
-I would say that Del Zotto was an abomination in this game but I wouldn't want to offend the word abomination. Why is he in the NHL? How is this kid playing over Eminger? MDZ had a shift in the 2nd period that may have been the worst 45 second shift by a mammal in the history of earth. I felt like I was watching Lawrence Nycholat during the dark ages of Rangers hockey.
-Dubinsky with two posts. That seems to be the way things have been going for us recently.
-Henrik had an awful game.
-I just don't know what to say about Gaborik. It is one thing to be snake bitten. It is another to not really create anything for long stretches of the game. He is to good to disappear as often as he does. He just doesn't impact the game on a nightly basis. Right now he isn't a threat. There was one play on a powerplay in the 3rd where he attempted an absolutely idiotic cross ice pass that had absolutely no chance of working.
-I refuse to discuss Drury until he ties Todd Whites goal production this year.
-This was a really ugly, poorly played game for long stretches by both teams.
********, it was going over either way. It was a soft goal.
No it wasn't. If a player stops the puck there, it's almost always saving a goal. But of course, on our team, the player shoots the puck at the goalie only to have it bounce out as hard as he shot it at him. It's just typical of the Rangers, if you ask me.

The good: nothing
The bad: this team
the redden: knowing the outcome of the game before the halfway point of the third period
You do....root for the Rangers right? Because for someone who posts on the HFNYR board, you've never said anything positive...ever. Or show any sign of actually being a fan of the Rangers. I'm just curious.
And they didn't. Trying isn't everything, you do have to succeed in what you are trying to do, more often, i.e. putting pucks into the yawning ocean of an empty net.
Which they have not done lately. The sky is not falling.
No panic here.
Torts is the best in-game coach we've had since I can remember, why the bashing?
The fact that we use like 30 different lines every game and the fact that we haven't had set lines in 2 years might have something to do with the Torts bashing.

Agreed, but what are you going to do. The Devils are trash without the trap and can win Cups with it.
ughi knew i shouldve sold my tix for tonight... an absolute snoozefest for 2 periods, i couldnt keep up with the lines torts was putting out there, im just sick of it. Losing to the worst team in recent NHL history at home is just unacceptable. i wont be back until torts is gone, he effing BLOWS!
Waaaaaaah nothing was good not even Prospal or Biron who pitched a shutout after he went in.Geez. This team should NOT be where it is right now it has severely overperformed. I'm so amped for the future it's not even funny but it's like you people think this should be the 1 seed right now. Let's expect a team with an entire lines worth of forwards being out of practice for a month to gel immediately that's smart
The Good Biron and Prospal
The Bad: Everything else
The Redden: Certain "fans".

You watch the game I just watched? Nothing to be positive about. Just Same old Rangers, as per usual.
Torts is the best in-game coach we've had since I can remember, why the bashing?
I dont see it at all. He no tactician. He preaches an aggressive forecheck. Whoop-dee-doo.
I have a hard time giving a guy credit when he uses 140 different line combinations over the course of a season and has a franchise goalie at his disposal.
This is why I laugh when people say, "Torts for coach of the year!" or, "Let's go get a good rental!" This team is not consistent enough to go anywhere this year.
If this team could score on the PP we wouldn't be in these situations, it is becoming more and more apparent each game, what were we 1-6 on the PP and 1-7 the other game? Look at tampa they are deadly on the PP and thats why they are 2nd in the conference, their goaltending is weak but they kill teams when they are up a player (we know this). Sather is going to make a deal and it won't make us a cup contender, but it could make us better.
I think del zotto is playing to see if he can help our PP, it is obvious he can't and I expect sather to make a reactionary trade, I am calling it
Del Zotto was just God awful tonight. I don't understand what his place is on this team. He's supposed to be a puck mover but he's been a turnover machine this year. He's still a liability in his own end, he makes no impact on the PP, and he's passive in everything he does which is the exact opposite of what this team stands for.
I just don't see his place on this team at all. Should we have moved him last year when he had value and picked Fowler in the Draft?
