Nikita Filatov for Joe Colborne

Our best prospect for yours. CLM needs help at center and we could use a skilled winger. Thoughts?

Filatov and our first for Toronto's first and a 3rd in 2012 draft day if Toronto is in the top 3 selection spot.

So this would have to be a draft day trade because of the lottery. If Columbus drops a couple spots in the standings I'd do it depending on CLB's position. This draft has many options in d that we need. So if we can still be an a position to draft one of them then I think Chia may go for it. Although, it's tough trading down from that spot. IMO though TO won't drop that low.

Boston has been one of the least active teams in Europe. They have problems getting people out of Sweden, and big problems with Russians.

I just don't see the Bruins dealing for a guy like Filatov who can simply stay in Russia

Yeah, I meant it as a draft day trade, I didn't mean to leave that part out. I assume our pick would be in the 5-10 range so It would depend if you think filatov and a top 10 pick are worth a top 3 pick and a 3rd or 2nd in the 2012 draft, which If I'm not mistaken is supposed to be a very deep draft.

I offered Filatov + 4th overall last year for 2nd overall and a lot of Bruins fans said no, opting to go with Seguin. I probably would have made the same choice and I doubt they change their tune if they get another top 3 pick.

Well this draft isn't a two horse race this year I don't believe, so you never know.

If your pick was 5 to 7 I think it could be possible. The B's would be more willing to trade the 3rd this year for sure.

Yes a 1000 times without even hesitating. Despres is exactly the type of player we need. You dont even have to add the 1st but we'll take it

I'd do the Colbourne or the Despres deals from a CBJ perspective.

I'd like Filatov but Boston has a history of not dealing with Russians for whatever reason. Last one I can think of that stayed long term was Samsonov.

Value wise it is a good deal, but I'm still saying no.

I have high hopes for JC (maybe biased high hopes albeit).

The Jackets are only 4 points up on the Leafs - unless there is a bigger seperation by draft day, I don't see how this makes sense.

Well it would be a draft day trade for sure, and I'd do it still if we had the 5 or 6th pick to move into the top 3.

my thoughts... if either were, or were to become Leafs property they would have been called Busts by now.

Is there are reason Nikita Filatov has only played in 14 AHL games this year? We're ~50 games in to the season.
