Spezza Returns...

Quote:
For Saturday's game against the New York Islanders, which begins a four-game road trip, Spezza will be on a line with Daniel Alfredsson and Nick Foligno. Foligno is there, in part, for insurance. [...]

The team's other three lines figure to look like this:

Peter Regin between Milan Michalek and Alex Kovalev, Mike Fisher between Chris Kelly and Chris Neil, and some combination of Ryan Shannon, Jesse Winchester, Jarkko Ruutu, and Zack Smith.

Interesting that Fisher ends up between these two considering he was amongst the forwards that had the most icetime for the past few games. Might have something to do with the fact that he's been complelty invisible in said games.

I'm glad to see Clouston stick with Regin Kovy Michalek since they combined for 4 goals together last game.

Hopefully Kovalev keeps scoring until the deadline.

This is pretty much perfect. I would have switched Foligno for Michalek (Michalek - Spezza - Alfredsson, Foligno - Regin - Kovalev) but this is awesome.

Ergh. After reading the article I'm not too fond of the idea of rushing Spezza back. He sounds as if he's unsure as to whether or not his shoulder is ready. If he can't take faceoffs because of his shoulder he shouldn't be playing.

Looks like hard workers are getting rewarded with the most effective over the last couple games at the top of the list.

Nice lines.

Based on all the discussion I had yesterday about trading Mike Fisher and the interest other teams may have in him. Putting Regin at 2nd line center (the would be Fisher replacement) and putting Fisher with grinders, which could be like an audition for a team planning to put him in a role like that.

Probably not. But regardless, this could be how some opposing scouts may see it.

Wonder when Regin requests to change his number back - 13 has done him no charm.

Nobody else worried about Spezza coming back this early when he says he doesn't even know if his shoulder is ready for taking faceoffs? @_@

And we've said it before. Try Fisher on the LW side for 10 games and let him learn to use his energy in front of the net. Fisher - Spezza - Michalek At least give it 5 games and lets see. Makes a huge difference if he can play Top 6 wing based on his CAP hit

Not sure who is out. Looks like either Ruutu or Smith at this point.

Clouston should be out. He can drive the Zamboni, so let Ruutu coach

This is truly where he belongs. He is not 1st line material. I know there are many admirers and lovers, including BM, but this is the reality of it.

Finally Regin is where he belongs, hes built to play top minutes not squabble on the 4th line.
