Weiss is the closest thing we have to a franchise player; he's not getting moved unless someone else gets ripped off.

Weiss has a NTC, he's not getting moved unless he wants to, and he has a say as to where he's going.

Booth is likely staying put, too, unless it's for a slight overpayment.

Not kidding. That's just the price on a guy who wants to stay with the organization, has a nice contract, including a NMC. If he were to move, it should be a gross overpayment.

Booth is more available, i think. Not sure on what Tallon would be looking for.

Inevitably, Penguin fans will be inquiring about Weiss and Booth and Stillman...I would guess that Weiss stays there (and Booth too, but that's no fun).

Do either of these deals look interesting (forgive the perhaps obscure prospects)...

Booth and Stillman for Eric Tangradi, Alex Grant, 2nd?

Booth and Stillman for Simon Despres, Keven Veilleux, 2nd?

If I've insulted, it's not my intent, I'm just looking to see what it takes to get Booth. My first guess is that the 2nd needs to be a 1st...but I'll leave that to you guys...

Eklund claims Washington has a Vokoun deal locked up..all they need to do is make the call. I highly doubt this, but say for ***** and gigs this happens to be true..

To Florida:
Brooks Laich (UFA) + pick/prospect

To Washington:
Tomas Vokoun (UFA)

I wish.

At this point, anything, really. I'm not expecting much; I just hope we don't end up losing him for nothing, now.

And I'm pretty sure Eklund's full of crap like always.

Would Florida consider moving the #3 overall for something like Del Zotto and the NYR 1st

or something like that?

What do you guys think about Markstrom and a second round pick for the #2 pick in this draft? Colorado is pretty much set at every position except goaltending. They could use a winger but they're in much more need of a goalie.

I think we can find a goalie in free agency in either Vokoun or Bryzgalov. Then we can draft Larsson and Landsekog.

I don't think Colorado would do it. They have some good goalie prospects. But I wouldn't say they are set at every other position. D is still a weakness IMO, as much as their goaltending. I expect them to take Larsson.

I don't think I'd do it either if I was the Panthers. For us, it opens up a hole and doesn't even fill another, because we don't have a hole on D. We could sign Vokoun or Bryz, but what about a few years down the road. Vokoun is 35. Markstrom in all likelihood gives us reliable netminding for a long time.

We could also take two forwards, I just know that a lot of people here would want Larsson as BPA. I think Brittian is going to be a stud in a couple of years. I like Markstrom but I think he can be replaced to some degree and we can find a goalie to handle the load within two years.

I would wait a few years to see where Brittain is at before deciding he could probably replace Markstrom. We only have one good year in the NCAA to go off of and he hasn't even played pro hockey yet.

Kris Versteeg to Florida

Philly needs some cap space to re-sign Ville Leino. Versteeg is the most likely candidate to be moved. We all known Tallon loves him, but how does he acquire him? Let's hear some proposals...

I don't think Tallon trades for him. Samsonov is Tallon's Panther version of Versteeg. He wants to make the forward lines bigger this summer and that can't happen with bringing in Sammy and Versteeg also.

Re: Petrovic for Gagner. I don't think that deal makes a lot of sense for the Oilers- at least straight up- and I'm frequently accused of being a homer for the other team when I make trade proposals involving our players.

1) The Oilers had an opportunity to draft Petrovic, and saw him play a bunch (he plays in our backyard, remember). They took Tyler Pitlick instead.

2) I don't believe Petrovic's upside is any more than a great stay-at-home #3/adequate #2. Yes, his spike in production is pretty amazing, but I present to you the following:

Player A, 17/18: 62 GP, 9-29-38
Alex Petrovic, 17/18: 57 GP, 8-19-27

Player A, 18/19: 64 GP, 14-52-66
Alex Petrovic, 18/19: 69 GP, 7-50-57

Who is Player A? Former Oilers captain Jason Smith. All through out last year, I compared Petrovic to Smith and Matt Greene- another former Oiler.

Now, what is Gagner worth? Again, I'm not one of those fans who thinks we can move him for Stamkos or Crosby, and hesitate to do so. But I think we'd need a more established player to replace him. After all, Sabres fans are offering up Drew Stafford, a 30-goal winger!

At this point, Gagner is well ahead of the developmental track of your own Stephen Weiss, and none of you would trade Weiss for a Petrovic (or at least I hope you wouldn't).

Gagner, 18/19- NHL, 49 points
Weiss, 18/19- OHL

Gagner 19/20- 76 GP, 16-15-41 (0.54 PPG)
Weiss 19/20- 77 GP, 9-12-21 (0.27 PPG)

Gagner 20/21- 68 GP, 15-26-41 points (0.60 PPG)
Weiss 20/21- 50 GP, 12-17-29 points (0.58 PPG)

Gagner 21/22- 68 GP, 15-27-42 points (0.62 PPG)
Weiss 22/23- 41 GP, 9-12-21 (0.51 PPG)

Just in case anybody missed this because it got locked so quickly on the main board.

OMFG the worst trade ever proposed on HF They should have left it open so the OP could have got the grief he deserved. Then the guy with Philly has no reason to trade Bobrovsky. Really not even for Kulikov and the 3rd overall and people think we over value Markstrom. I feel better now needed to get that out.
