Believe it's 2-way. Also loaned to Bridgeport.

He's already been playing for Bridgeport. This is pretty sad, hopefully only plan B if Snow can't get someone within the next 24h.

It's pretty sad in any case. The guy was just brought in on a PTO with the Tigers and now suddenly he's part of the Isles franchise. Why not sign someone with NHL experience like Emery or Legace...

I really hope to God that is what is being done and this signing is just a 'worst case scenario' kind of thing.

If we can't get anyone with any kind of NHL experience to want to play for us we might as well close shop as a legit franchise.

Everyone laughed or came up with conspiracy theories when the Isles drafted Cody Rosen, but I'm thinking he might be the starting goalie by the end of the season.

They should have just claimed Smith.

He's not worth the pro rated $2.2m.

$2.2M is his full season cap hit, not a pro-rated number. They would have paid Smith about $780k for the remainder of the season.

Michael Leighton isn't looking so bad now, is he? H***, Joey McDonald or Yann Danis would look better than Martin!

I faxed Garth my player stats from when I played in the beer leagues. I was a defenseman, but I played in goal once, so that should grab his eye.

Someone should pay a visit to the Sunoco station on Old Country Road...I believe Tom Draper is working the pumps there and may be interested.

Like IslesRock said, 780k for the rest of the season is not a bad deal at all.

The trick is getting Chuckie to open up his fanny pack.

Was Manon Rheaume busy? I can hear it now: "Joel Martin, come and get the STANLEY CUP!"

I think they are just ****ing with us at this point.

I agree with a previous poster. Bring back Yann Danis.

I say we put Yablonski in goal. He could steal a couple of games for us...

I know what I meant. 780k is a lot for a sive like Smith when you can get someone else for like $150k who will do roughly the same job.

Wang likes his money, why would he throw away an extra half million for a backup to Poulin? He traded away Wiz early in the season to save money, he traded away Rollie early to save money, it doesn't make sense to spend an extra $500k on a goalie when your trying to save real dollars.

Tom Draper is a cool dude. I'd welcome him back.

Would it be any other way with this franchise?

There is a better chance of SAM Rosen playing goal for NYI this year than Cody Rosen

Yup. It was a no brainer, but we appear to have no brain.
