There was a proposal a few pages back that actually nailed it on the head in terms of value I thought, I believe it was BOS 1st, TOR 1st, BOS 1st 2012, High prospect (Colbourne, Spooner, Knight, etc) and Krejci.
Now as a Bruins fan, would I do that? I honestly don't know. That's a hard sell for Devil fans though.

i wouldnt, not that parise doesnt warrant that kind of return but thats just investing too much into one individual
Chris Pronger wasn't traded for that much and he was a league MVP, Norris and Stanley Cup winner, and he played a more important position.
On top of that, if Jersey decides to trade Parise, it's because there's a problem. Like his agent encouraging Parise to sign a one year deal for fear of a salary rollback in the new CBA. That doesn't mean teams won't still line up for him, but it makes him a 15 month rental. So a team has to think twice about selling off every future they have for a guy who could very well walk after one fully healthy playoff run.
I'd offer Lou, Rask and our 1st. That would give them a proven commodity in Rask, a potential franchise goalie who led the league in every category last season, cap space as Rask is signed for $1.2m for another year, and a 1st round pick with which they could set out to find the next Parise. I doubt another team could afford to offer up a potential franchise talent AND their own 1st.
And if that's not enough, the B's are better off walking away, using those assets to ice a cheap, competitive team, and targeting this purportedly promising 2012 UFA class when the lockout ends.
That is the worst proposal of them all and there's been some pretty bad ones.
Lou deletes Chia from his contacts.
You want a proven franchise winger for two "potentials". Goaltenders are not worth much anymore. Look at what Halak brought back fresh off an amazing run to the ECF.

It's fair value, I think. But it almost guarantees that the Devils will be rebuilding, and I don't think that's Lou plan.
No reality did. There isn't a person anyone in the league that would take rask over Price. Except maybe the bruin faithful.
Last year there isn't one person who would have taken Price over Rask. Price didn't do very well in his 2nd season did he?
Saying someone has a higher ceiling is a little different than saying nobody would take one over another.
I personally think Rask has every bit as high of a ceiling as Rask, that doesn't mean he is better right now, it has to do with his potential.
Last year I argued that Price would turn into a fine #1 netminder, and sooner rather than later, this year I am saying Rask will turn into a fine #1 goaltender and sooner rather than later, heck, he already is.
obviously the powerful Montreal hype machine has taken hold of you
Powerful you have become, the dark side I sense in you. The Montreal hype machine is a powerful force, Blind you it can. Once you start down the path, forever will it dominate your destiny, consume you it will.
Arnott and Clackson for Wheeler Paile and a 2 round pick this year

This is assuming Savard gets put on LTIR, of course. If that's the case then both teams could easily fit this under the cap. The Bruins would also be able to make a followup deal and move Stuart and get a very decent PMD with the cap space that would be left. With Ryder, Recchi + coming of the books next year it would be possible to re-sign Parise.
Parise as far as I know is slated for a mid-march return, and this would be amazing for the playoff run in Boston.
If Parise was to recieve an offer sheet, it would result in 4 first rounders (which is what this is essentially). Toronto's pick I'm predicting is going to be #5, which means the Devils would possibly have 2 top 5 picks this coming draft. This sets NJ up pretty nicely for the future with some high end prospects on ELC's.
