You didn't have Paajarvi on your list so I would want him. But at the same time, I want Paajarvi to stay in Edmonton. Kidding aside, I would ask for Ryan Whitney when he gets healthy but Oilers will say no. Maybe a deal around Mason/Voracek for Hemsky/pick? If you want to have a Mason/Dubnyk combo. Add Khabibulin and Commodore to the deal. Both make the same amount and the same amount of years left. I just don't like that Khabibulin is on a 35+ contract.

I'll point out that the CBJ have four goalies under contract (Mason, Garon, Leneveu, Wesslau). Losing one of them without a plan to replace him is unlikely to happen.

I would not trade for Hemsky. While I recognize that he's an All-Star caliber player, his injury history is a huge red flag.

He had one good year playing behind the defensive system of Ken Hitchcock. Defensive systems boost goaltenders stats.

While he is a decent young goalie I think is potential will likely be a slightly below average starting goaltender.

As far as his value, he reminds me of Pascal Leclaire. The Leclaire trade was : Vermette (second line forward) for Leclaire (Mason) and a second round pick.

Columbus really needs to work on their player development. Not every player is a bulletproof, self-starting superstar like Rick Nash.

Either that or they need to somehow aquire more bulletproof, self-starting superstars like Rick Nash.
Of course he wasn't called up too early, what sort of nonsense is that? He won the Calder Trophy, was a Vezina finalist and made the second All-Star team, for crying out loud. If that's not being ready, what is......

Goalies don't have a lot of value to begin with add his recent downturn and columbus shouldn't expect a mind blowing return, but I think a change of scenery could definitely help mason out.

Yeah... I doubt that, he already proved himself a starter years ago, even has a Calder trophy to prove it.

He must have caught what Jim Carey and Andrew Raycroft had

Jeff Reese in Philly could set this kid back to his ROTY stature, I mean hell he made Boucher and Leighton look like playoff masters, and turned a Free agent rookie goalie into one of the top young goalies in the league.

Question is what would Columbus want?

More than the current goalie market would dictate. Howson is looking for another GM to pretend like the last 2 seasons didn't occur and Mason is coming off of his Calder season.

I agree some may not like it, but I feel thats what itd take to get him. It's definitely a very steep price.

As a CBJ fan, I'm not willing to part with Mason at all. He's having a tough season this year, but last year he had 5 SO's and a 90% save pctg. Pretty dang good for as terrible as the rest of the team played. He's only 22 right now, I think he is worth a little time.
