Player of the Game & The Good, The Bad, The Redden: Game #55 @ Montreal Canadiens

Player of the Game & The Good, The Bad, The Redden

The RulesWhat is the poll for?

You are voting for the player of the game - the one who put forth the most effort, who put the team on his shoulders, who contributed the most.

Do not vote for the player who had the best statistical game just because he had the best statistical game.

This does not mean you should not vote for the player of who had the best statistical game, but do not vote for him just because of that fact.

Who can I vote for?

You may vote for any player who dressed for the game and played at least one shift. If the player you want to vote for is not included in the poll, select "Other" and indicate in your post who you wish to vote for. In the case that I egregiously miss the player who everyone wants to vote for in the poll, I will count the votes in the thread.

What is this "The Good, The Bad, The Redden" nonsense?

It is my twist on the title of the famous spaghetti western movie, The Good, the Bad and the Ugly.

Since multiple players may have outstanding games and you can only vote for one player in the poll, this affords you the opportunity to recognize multiple players, or a facet of the team, for their commendable play ("The Good"). This also affords you the opportunity to rip players, or a facet of the team, for their particularly substandard play ("The Bad"). Finally, just as "The Player of the Game" affords you the opportunity to recognize the best, this affords you the opportunity to commend the crème de la crème of the worst, who delivered an atrocious performance, or whose singular (or multiple) bad plays directly led to the the detriment of the team ("The Redden").

Alexander Frolov Memorial Trophy

The Alexander Frolov Memorial Trophy is awarded to the player who most exemplifies the qualities that Alex brought to the ice game in and game out. Most notable was his talent for wraparounds. Thusly, this award is given to the player who has the most wraparound attempts throughout the game.

The award tonight goes to Artem Anisimov and Vaclav Prospal, both with 1 wraparound attempt against Montreal.

good job by dubinsky on the dump in that went around behind the net and up the ice to plekanec. He wasnt skating hard all, just watching the play instead of going in and getting the puck. No one was there and it was easy clear for montreal.

Despite the fact that we lost, I thought we looked better today than we have at any point since the break. Good effort, just couldn't find the back of the net.

Oh, and the PP still sucks.

If there was something below The Redden, our power play would go there.

This month is gonna suck so much. What's our next game? Oh, at Detroit? I'd say our chances of winning that one are about 0.02%.

Nothing gets updated until tomorrow because: a) I'm ****ing pissed and b) My laptop has to be repaired tonight.

PoTG : Martin Biron.
The Good : Zucc and Dubinsky.
The Bad : The seemingly total lack of a "plan". Its mostly dump and chase.
The Redden : The powerplay.. we soon need to find a new category for it thats below even the Redden..

Honestly, fire Sullivan, trade Gaborik, trade Del Zotto.

Sullivan has no idea how to run a proper PP, nor how to properly align the blue line so that we don't have such a weak pairing.

Gaborik obviously can't show up when he has to. Torts is telling him to be selfish and carry it in to the zone... but for some reason he interprets that as trying to weave through three defenders by himself and lose the puck.

Del Zotto has the wrong mindset completely. His play is no where near is has to be, and is not even going in the right direction. I don't know how he could think that he's doing alright. Constantly makes blatantly bad plays putting the team at risk, and never really makes a difference offensively.

Gotta start making moves for the rebuild. These guys just don't fit.

Onto the next game... LGR

Good: Biron, Sauer & McD pairing.
Redden: Powerplay and Gaborik. He is just completely invisible against teams with winning records.
