Malkin out with torn ACL/MCL

Penguins shouldn't be a problem for the Flyers anymore.

Hockey-wise, my reaction is:

On a personal level, wouldn't really wish this to happen to anyone, though.

Must be because of his age. Many said that Franzen's knee last year was because of his age.

Heckuva a bummer. Good competition.
That said, meh. Now they can focus on that other person unnamed from hereon to the offseason. Alright scratch that, I know I'll crack. Would you believe a month?

Well that's a kick in the nuts for my fantasy team!! First Getzlaf, than Crosby and now Malkin Koivu is my only healthy Center and the thing that really gets me is Yahoo won't even let me drop the guy, talk about STUPID!!

So, he's out for the regular season or the playoffs too?

Sucks for the Pens, as if I care. Malkin has been struggling this season when he was playing too, so they'll want Crosby back for sure.

I"m going on the assumption that its gonna be both. He tore his MCL and ACL, I"m thinking he'll be out for a long, long time.

i don't think this is going to hamper the penguins too much to be honest. if crosby comes back playing at the level he was before he got the concussion, they will be fine unfortunately

Never like seeing a player get injured, unless it was Claude Lemieux. Tough luck for the Pens.

i think penguins' record without malkin and crosby is 6-1, which is surprising.

their team D, PK and goaltending are very good.
