Oh, and a friendly note for anyone sitting in the club level or higher. When the game is in progress and you're sitting in your seat: LEAN BACK!!!!!!

Tonight Mr. Bighead in front of me was literally on the edge of his seat most of the game and consequently the back of his huge noggin blocked out a significant portion of the ice including the net at times. Seriously. That was a big head. A virtual planetoid. It had its own weather system.

Military Tribute tonight was a chick still deployed in A-stan. Father, Husband, Family stood for honors.

1st intermission game was the husband of the aforementioned Sergeant with three shots against a goalie in Preds gear - missed all three shots, but they give him a 'consolation' prize anyway - the goalie pulls mask and is actually his wife home from A-stan early. Ovation/hugs/kisses/etc. Very nice present for them.

1st intermission band: Small Time Rockstars with Vince Gill on Guitar for a cover of a Martina McBride tune. Then Vince brings out Alice Cooper for 2 songs including School's Out. Then Vince says it's Alice Cooper's b-day and gives him a customized Preds jersey (#1 Cooper) which Alice really seemed to like a lot.

Side Note: Alice Cooper is a highlander. He looks the same as he did 20 years ago.

SOB spoiling for a fight all night. Refs looked silly getting caught both trying to help the wings with penalties on the same stoppage. Inspired Preds kill 5x3 anyway.

Only one beer can thrown to ice from a Det fan one section over from me. Not bad for the night.

P.S. Oh, Preds won with a SO, too.

Alice Cooper!!!

That first intermission just kept getting better. At least 14,000 of the 17,113 in attendance tonight stayed in the arena. It was great!!!

What a great game! I took a friend to his first ever hockey game and I may have him hooked, if not now then hopefuly soon. Kind of sad though, it was the last game for another buddy of mine whose moving away soon. At least they both got the beginning and end of their Pred experiences with a great win. I'm really impressed with the youngsters the team's bringing up. I think they'll be a good addition to the team in the years to come. All in all a great night.

I haven't been watching hockey as long as some of you have but I have *never* seen a would be fight stopped and delay of game penalties assessed. Every time we play the Wings we have to battle the refs as well

I'll echo this. Couldn't believe it. They were both willing to go.

Great win!

I think it was because the "fight" started a good bit after the play had been blown dead. It's a severe penalty (can't remember what - but it's not a normal call) if you are involved in a fight outside of play. I think they just needed to call it something and delay of game was the easiest for them.

But yeah, this is 2 terribly officiated games in a row.

Abdelkader wouldn't fight Weber earlier when he ran Rinne and stayed far away from O'Brien. That ENTIRE shift Wilson was crosschecking him and wanted him to go and finally had to essentially pull off his gloves. Then when they took off the helmets Abdelkader skated farther and farther away. I wouldnt be surprised if the sissy told the refs to intervene.

Abdelkader in Latin actually means sissy.

You mean I make a GDT and the Preds win......

*Blinkblink.....BLINKBLINKBLINK*

OK, I guess I make the next GDT.

And Alice Cooper is from Phoenix, is he two timing with Yotes? Is this like a trade thing the Preds get Cooper and the Yotes get Dirks Bentley? If this is the case I approve!

He lives in Arizona. He owns a restaurant with Randy Johnson called 'Cooperstown'.

Cooper is originally from Detroit. He stated so on his 2nd intermission interview with Pete and Terry.

Alice was born in Detroit but has lived in or around Phoenix at least since he was in high school.

But you know how Detroit people are...they're thick. I was fully expecting something red to emerge (a la Kid Rock) and I was pleasantly surprised. Only reason I worry about getting Jack White in there...

;-)

All in all, that was simply awesome. I woke up excited about that game.

Dierks plays hockey on at least two teams locally and lives in Nashville. Cooper doesn't play hockey and is born in Detroit. I'll take an Alice Cooper performance at last night's game as a change of pace, but I'm keeping Bentley for the long-haul...
